Can't find airport - Payware KBNA

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I ran into a similar issue from another person's post below but I don't have the "options" option in my UGCX menu.   I'm loaded up at payware KBNA in P3Dv5.   When I try to start the push back it tells me it can't find an airport.   I've sure it's something I've not setup correctly as this is my second time trying to use the program.  Please see UGCX log in the spoiler since I can't seem to find away to attached the log file to the post.

Thanks in advanced for the help!

Strange.

Can you post a screenshot of your UCGX menu?

Hi,

It’s KBNA, Nashville International Airport.   I’ll grab a screenshot of my main menu when I get home and add it to this post. Thanks for help!

Just reproduced the issue and finally got it FIXED!...the problem was that...UGCX is taking the NEAREST airport from the sim's GPS system. If you open the GPS window, at the NEAREST airport page, you will notice that KBNA and ZNBA are the two closes airport's IDs....the problem is...ZNBA isn't actually an airport, but just a waypoint, however, KBNA is the REAL one. UGCX was taking the ZNBA by mistake. After the fix, it's taking the correct ICAO id. This was something that could be fixed time before, but suddenly MSFS2020 appeared and we had to change the focus. However, this update is mostly bug fix update. And I estimate probably (if everything goes fine), will be ready by this friday, as a PUBLIC BETA, depending on your feedback will be improved.

Sorry by the delay response

Cheers,

Manuel

Manuel,

Thanks for looking into this!  I'm excited you were able to reproduce and solve my issue.  I look forward to test out the public beta when it's released.  You can also disregard my "not having an Options options".  That was a user error on my part.  I have that option.  🙂

Manuel, how many airports addons have you bought for the purpose of reproducing user's problem? 😉

Well, I try not to buy all, but, in order to reproduce almost exactly as the user, I decided to buy that one, I saw it's cheap, so I decided to go forward and buy it, really with the solely purpose of fix the issue, since, most of the post in the forum is related to that issue, the "couldn't find airport", this is coming from the current update we have, we added the feature to pick the nearest airport from the GPS system, but after I bought the scenery, and the P3D license, finally, concluded it was an error, but yeah, many of the sceneries are different across 3rd party developers, so it's like difficult try to make compatible with all. For example, ORBX has a terrain library, that's huge!, and when the current version of UGCX attempts to read, it takes looong time, but with the new update we will release, it will skip all that terrain BGL files, making the BGL scan process faster. We had to buy that from ORBX in order to make the fix, otherwise it's difficult without having the scenery itself, it's like a "guessing" process, like fixing something being blind.

Cheers,

Manuel

I was kidding you but indeed it is best to have the scenery to reproduce a problem.

Thanks in advance for the coming update.

But currently, UCGX works fine on all the addon airports I have used so far 🙂

HI Manuel,

The public beta update has fixed my issue.  Thank you so much for the "above and beyond" support you've provided.  I can't wait to see what other things you have in store of this software in the future!
