He means wattle. It's an old method of building still popular in Brum. Called wattle and daub whereby a hut was constructed of a network of sticks and daubed with mud to keep the weather out. They seem to prefer that to our soft southerners use of bricks and mortar.

As long as they're happy eh?

Had a quick hint of nostalgia when I spotted PNG & Kiunga. Been there in real life a few times, when working for the OK-Tedi gold mine. Was based in Tabubil in the Start Mountains and used to travel to Kiunga occasionally, to service their diesel power station.

Used to fly from Cairns (YBCS) to Daru (AYDU) a small island off the PNG mainland for customs and immigration and then on to Tabubil (AYTB) in a Beechcraft 200 King Air.

Cheers

Hi Norm, sorry about typo re wattle, but just thought i would show you my abode after extensive renovation ( note the hut next door has not got cable internet which makes it less expensive. )

Wow! You must have the latest fireproof wattle. Costs a fortune in rabbit pelts I hear. Very nice. 🙂

Edit: Blimey! I just noticed you also have the latest outside loo. Saves that trek to the forest eh?

Do you still have the flight plan for this?  I've been going back and flying these events when I can't make it on line.

Cheers!
