TCAS working in A320Neo FBW?

Recommended Posts

Although I switched the TCAS option to TA or TA/RA I don't receive "blimps" in my ND when traffic is near me at the same or about the same altitude as I am flying on.  I am using the latest dev version of FlyByWire's A320Neo plus FSUIPC. (Settings in FSUIPC for TCAS are set correctly). I wonder what I am overlooking to get TCAS working for me. Any ideas? Thanks for any information.

Hans

Same here, I used to see them, but since some time they seem to have vanished in space. Perhaps due to me using the development version of FBW? I dunno.

We have not yet implemented our custom TCAS system, as it is still in development. Any TCAS icons displayed on the ND are a result of Asobo's default TCAS, which itself isn't fully implemented.

Thanks for this information IcemanFBW. All clear now. And a big thanks as well for all your good work at the FBW A32NX

Best,

I'm getting stutters when looking straight out the front of the plane. If I pan left it smooths out. I tried glass cockpit refresh rate to low. Could it be optimized further?

Thank you for all your work on the A320!

Is there a forum somewhere on the A320 FBW project?

Thanks,

Mike

We're working on further optimizations to the PFD and ND display code which should be out by 0.5.0. In the meantime, turning off the F.O. displays (using the brightness knobs) may yield an extra frame or two.

Thanks!  I will look into that.  But you will be surprised to know that a few MSFS updates ago, I was unable to get the program to run until I uninstalled the Discord App - it's in a Zendesk list somewhere of possible sources of trouble.

Again, thank you  for all your work - it vastly improves the default A320.

Mike

is TCAS implemented now or just recently? yesterday after the WU4 update I saw for the very first time TCAS blimps, never ever saw them before; though they seem to show only AI traffic, not MP traffic

It’s been working for a while. I have seen a fair amount of traffic on the ND. You need to be at 10 or 20 nm on the distance scale.

I have the same problem: I see traffic on the VFR map but nothing on the ND. MSFS and FBW A320 are up to date.

Due to limitations with the Asobo TCAS you can only see traffic on ND at a range of 20NM or below. Switching your ND to a higher range - there's nothing.

I have just understood that turning the developer mode on ruins the traffic system. I did a test with a GNS 530 mod that shows the traffic, it was working fine, and all traffic disappeared when I turned the developer mode on.

I think it is the reason why thought it was working bad, it may be all right after all...

Thanks for your help.
