November 20, 20205 yr That's Austria to you (well, some of you.) If you have Orbx's LOWI, LOWZ, LOWS, (see title. Geddit?) LOWW and LOWG all the better. If not, the default MSFS offerings are not too shabby. The trip is 372nm but only six landing so the faff factor ought to be reasonably LOW~ (Oh, please stop it!) I'm thinking along the lines of the Mooney, that kinda thing. Departure time about 13.30ish local East Coast server Teamspeak: ts.teamavsim.com 19:00Z Are you getting this xxd09? November 24, 20205 yr Ron is taking us near Hallstatt, the ancient salt-mining town and current tourist attraction. (On the southwest shore of the Hallstatter See, near Waypoint 6.) From the 8th to the 5th centuries BC, the settlement was an early success story due to the salt mines and the associated regional trade. For the next two millennia, the town continued on the narrow patch of land between mountain and lake. Archeology did some interesting work here in the 19th century to reveal the ancient history. And the first road arrived in 1890. While Hallstatt attracted some tourists in the 20th century, its "discovery" occurred in the 21st century. From Wikipedia: It became popular among Asian tourists in 2006 when it was featured on a South Korean television show. Social media images of it, captioned "the most Instagrammable town in the world," went viral in Southeast Asia. A replica was planned and then built in China in 2011 in Huizhou, Guangdong province, Hallstatt's twin town. In 2013 it was rumored in China to be the model for the movie Frozen's Arendelle village. By 2017 local churches were employing bouncers to prevent services being disrupted by tourists. In 2011 tourism estimates were just over 100 per day. In 2020 the town had a population of 780, and estimates of 10,000 to nearly 30,000 tourists per day, primarily via bus tours which bring tourists briefly into the town for photo opportunities, then quickly move on. ... Hallstatt became the prime example of "overtourism" in Austria. With its great view of the mountains and the lake, many say this is one of the most beautiful towns in Europe. November 26, 20205 yr Author Buzz, my hat's off to you. That was a cracking bit of flying. I noticed you flew straight down the runway to get a heading(I assumed), clever. Personally I would have burst into tears, stamped my feet and screamed 'I'm not playing any more! The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link.
