Looks fantastic. And it’s going to be freeware?! Wow.

I'm not surprised, the FSX/P3D version was also free.

"The sim engine puts all ships on ocean level". Nothing more to say, sometimes I really, really wonder what those guys over at Asobo smoke, it must be wonderful stuff...

It's a flight simulator not a boat simulator so it's not really surprising.

This traffic is just for ambiance, so it really doesn't bother me.

I hope the problem can get fixed so that we won't get this problem in the sim. I really love this ship AI addon.

I mean it’s only any issue on rivers and the Great Lakes. That doesn’t effect a majority of the boat traffic you’ll likely see, unless you fly over the lakes a lot. They only discovered this issue themselves a couple days ago apparently.

But yes it would be a nice fix. I suggested that the author make a big report and a thread on the forums to see if it gets traction.

Asobo should actually program in realistic buoyancy!
That way they would move around on the water with the corresponding wind / sea state, and that would fix the water height problem and make them look more realistic in one go!

On second thoughts, maybe not.  Maybe just add the wakes first.  Or no, maybe just fix the flaps problem first actually.  Small steps and all that!...  😕

I really wonder what you smoke complaining about this on a flight sim. You are biting the hand that feeds aren't you?

Well, small details like this show how profound a sim is being developed. Did you see anything like this in P3D? MSFS has so many small issues like this I really wonder if the guys over at Asobo really understand their own engine. For months now stuff remains uncorrected that was done right in the "old" sims right from the start, like LOD issues, coastline bugs, terrain spikes, mesh issues, missing airports, wrong taxiway designators, aerodynamic bugs, buggy GPS, missing particle effects, no visible water interactions, live weather issues, just to name the most prominent ones. Now add this "elevation bug" for waters and no, I dont think I bite the hand that feeds me...

Greetings, Chris

You might be right with naming those issues. But i wouldn't even dare to judge the team behind the Sim in any way. You and most of us simmers have absolutely no idea what work has to be done to get a sim like this out to us.

Be grateful for what you get and be patient for things to come. Or apply for a job at Asobo and contribute. Maybe they are just waiting for a talented guy like you to get some things ironed out.

Otherwise start enjoying the sim.

Strange. As paying customers handing over our hard earned cash to MS / Asobo, I thought it was the other way around!   😀

cut and paste job - "Global AI Ship Traffic has been a well-loved addon for FSX and P3D for years, and it’s great to see it coming to MSFS too. Henrik is saying that the product is now under beta testing, and should be out before the end of this month. It’s a stunning freeware mod that is bound to dramatically improve the scenery down in the oceans and we can’t wait to try it!"

I'm confused, isn't this what we've already got? Or is it a more simplified version or something?

Just remember that any of the World Updates could easily have been paid DLCs...so the value out of the initial investment is really high.
