Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS

Featured Replies

I flew around Atlantic Canada and New England, barely any traffic at 100%.

Nice mod, but uninstalled it.

I feel the biggest problem is the lack of wakes. If you fly over the Atlantic you hardly ever see the ships, you see the wakes.

You're only supposed to set it at 5%. Otherwise you only get default traffic.

Not exactly true. Here is what the docu says:

"Installation is simple: unzip and drop in your Community folder.  Ensure you traffic settings for Ships and Ferries is 5% or more. All ships will appear at 5% so no need to increase to 100% unless you want to see repetition of the default ships."

I already told you why last page.

MSFS only renders sea traffic at sea level, the lakes are above sea level so you won’t see anything because they’d spawn under the surface.

This comes from Henrik himself.

Boat traffic in MSFS is only at sea level. So, you're not going to see any because they'd be under water.

Working on the native version of Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS... It is still a looooong way to go but now I am getting some system in the process and advancing.

Apologies if this has already been noted but this mod will also create a folder under the users\USERNAME\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator structure with the name $PC$ . I imagine this structure contains the compiled assets as they are created during a run. I assume these are harmless but they will remain after removing the mod from the community folder.  I personally can remove the $PC$ folder altogether, but I'm not sure if other mod may also use this structure. Basically, If it wasn't there before you installed the mod then you can safely delete it.

I'm currently enjoying this mod in FSX and MSFS.😍

I pulled out of Port of Miami in one of my Deltasim yachts in FSX and sure enough a huge cruise liner with gold tipped exhaust stacks was pulling into port as I exited the main waterway entry.

The sailing past the gigantic ship in full VR fov scale was breathtaking!

In VR I like flying the Goose in the area around TFFJ and TNCM.   Island hopping.    I've noticed the Calypso is between those two islands.

Another model converted - this time focusing on getting the settings right for transparent windows for those models including this on eg the bridge and cranes...

Good news is that performance impact is almost zero with the new models 😄
