Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS

Featured Replies

Thanks Henrik, and team. I've installed this for the first time today (only had FS2020 for a few weeks) and loving the detail and the extra immersion packages like this provide. Had a slow cruise along the English Channel and must have seen a good 20 or so ships so far of various models. Wonderful work.

Does it affect FPS at all?

Not that I've noticed, Ian. I've not used any tools to check, but I'm locked to 30FPS and only had one slow flight in the C172. No stutters or obvious frame drops that I can detect with the naked eye.

It is now all native MSFS models with low poly count and really optimized for AI - the previous issues especially after SU5 where related to the conversion of files taking place with legacy mdl files, but we spent the last month on going through every single model file and every single texture bringing them to native format.

Boy O Boy this is great!  Really loving this new version. 🤙👍🍺🍺

Took off before dawn from KSBP and started hunting for ship traffic with help from LIttleNavMap.  Had a great time lookin' for suspicious containers n'such as the sun rose and the fog started to slowly lift.  Smooth as butter and beautifully detailed vessels.  Fantastic work!

A fleet of 13 controllable and functional vessels, including a nuclear submarine and Titanic, to extend the use of Flight Simulator not only as aerial simulation, but also to play at sea for fun. Ship models are from the Global AI Ship Traffic mod, which are copyright Henrik Nielsen and all use and reference in this mod is with permission from Henrik Nielsen.

Thanks for the nice screenies... The last model is actually one of the very first models in the project - done eight or nine years ago - when I converted it last week I was tempted to update the model itself a bit because it is much less detailed than the newer models e.g. the ones in your first shoots; but it doesn't come out badly - and it is very lite as it was done to FSX specifications on vertices and draw calls - a true AI model.

Ladies and gentlemen,  I believe I may have unearthed footage of Henrik and his team working on the mod.   😁

Seriously though,  I've worked so many of those Royal Wagenborg ships that I lost count.   They are such a cool company.   They build their own ships,  operate them,  broker them,  and they own docks and warehouses.   Several shipping lines use their ships.

They do everything from supply vessels,  to ferries,  towing, and heavy lifts.   I've lifted wind mill blades and various bulk ores from them,  filled them with petrol coke,  scrap steel.   Their ships are always immaculate,  they don't let them rust.

It's great! All the stuttering is gone. I've donated.

Same here.

Many thanks for what you have created here, I was just sitting in the Husky float plane watching cruise ships departing, and container ships entering port. Absolutley stunning, and a great addition to the sim. i'll certainly be donating as well.
