Henrik Nielsen's Global AI Ship Traffic for MSFS

Flying over to Rotterdam I witnessed what must be one of the worst potential maritime disasters of recent times. Albeit I saw it at a distance two ships appeared to collide. However the smaller ship did some kind of spinning pirouette and went happily on its way. 😀

I've seen a similar situation, two from opposite directions. It looked to be a disaster, but lo and behold one of them did some fancy maneuvering in the nick of time and managed to bypass with just a few feet in between them. (it was kinda exciting).

What really blew me away, was running across a floating self-propelled drilling rig. (don't really know it's nomenclature) it was quite an intricate build.

Hi,

I got another strange thing after installing, I had to start my sim always twice because at the first start I got a CTD.

Not at the same loadingstatus , but I came not to the flight.

The wakes visibiltiy depend on ground wind speed - if you add a ground wind layer of 5-15 knots you will have the best visibility. Above 15 knots some of them become quite dominant.

Okay, thanks. So this might explain why the wakes I saw were so small and less 'frothy'. When I flew across the English channel testing out the mod the waves were quite small so perhaps this impacted the visual size of the wakes.

Edit: Thanks for this awesome mod. It really adds huge immersion to the sim world. The models are amazingly detailed.

This is such an excellent add-on. I'm starting to feel that it's right up there with the add-on linker as the must have add-ons for MSFS.

We have a great free addon right?!

I've seen a lot of interesting ships around the world but flew around NY last night doing some testing when I saw the Staten Island ferry in all its yellowy glory. As I wasn't sure whether it was a part of this package, I went down low for a better look and saw it had a wake, so it must be.

Apart from the container ships and cruise liners, has anyone noticed anything special or anything that surprised them like this?

I really love the new Washington State Ferries but I also go chasing for Navy ships from around the world there is really a bunch of different navies... even Brazil, Argentina, and Chile are well represented with their real ships... That is just so amazing. i just look forward to when the helicopter platforms will be hardened so we can land on them.

This is something I never saw in Norway Fjords before the add-on:

Sometimes I wish this addon had its own sub-forum with just the release info.  Sorry to ask but I think I missed something.  I see the wakes are available, is this a new beta download that is working fully now or should I wait until the formal release in April?  Is it a full download or an update to the original that I have installed. ?

Hi Mark,

it's a new download and deletion of the previous version in the community folder is required. Despite the beta in the version name it's working perfect on my side and most others.

MV Calypso has gulls flying along with it.   (this vid from V1,  so no smoke or wakes)

Forgot the 1902 Paddle Steamer Unterwalden,  still in service on Lac Lucerne.

This is a beta Mark and Henrik hopes to be able to upload the final version some time in April.  I think he has a few more ships and routes to add and maybe a few tweaks.  You must delete v1 to use this version of course.

The beta is working fine for me and most others it would seem though.

This ship was so awesome.  I've said it before,  but TV audiences had never seen anything like it before. Cousteau blew us all away,   he might as well have been an astronaut with how cool we thought he was.

Just a massive "thank you" to all involved in this project.

Running this + Seafronts packages + a full AIG install...  All showing up, all effects showing, no FPS hit, no stuttering.   Wonderful job.    Until the boats on rivers problem is sorted this is as perfect as it get on the shipping front.

Trains next? 😄
