The problem is the amount bgl traffic files combined with your system, settings and other stuff. The bgl files consume a lot of calculation power at start up as the system run through all of the files to see which ships should be present where you are flying. This is why you get the freeze when you load. The solution is to do as I did with Cpt_Piett - I sent him a file with less bgl files and the problem was solved. Again this will be solved once we launch the real time version, but you can also yourself remove some of the bgl files - they are named according to area so you can just choose the ones most relevant to where you fly. Remember to run layout generator for the gaist package to restore the layout.json before flying again. Personally I run MSFS on a very high end gaming computer and I still never managed to provoke a freeze. Yes, i don't have a high end PC, but @Cpt_Piett does and he still has the problem. Go figure. Guess I'll wait for the new version then, thanks. No, it still depends what else you run. and your settings.. and define "fairly". I just say that Asobo did not introduce something new which makes the GAIST technically incompatible.

The bgl version will also continue to exist but with routes divided in smaller regional packages to resolve the issue some experience with freezes. Edited October 14, 20223 yr by KL791

Hi Henrik, I deleted around 250 bgl files and ran the layout generator and that seems to have fixed the freezes. Thanks for the tip. This is how I have organized myself - I do have all installed at the time, but with addon linker or the like it would be easy to change depending on where you are flying and only have the relevant routes loaded.

I seem to have the same problem with Gaist. It will CTD when loading at beginning after picking my flight and before the aircraft on tarmac screen. Where is this layout generator, you're talking about? Is it a proprietary generator for those in the beta program or can I download it myself to see if that helps. SJED
