No wakes also. Am I missing something? The wakes will be much less visible than on the offline version as the real time ships typically move very slow and the wakes are designed to work best at a stable high speed AND also at a ground wind speed of at least 5-10 knots. When I checked the Solent there was a lot of sailboats going very very slowly. One way of identifying my sailboats are that their sails are animated and will disappear if speed is zero or close to zero. I do not have LNM installed at the moment and can not answer on that part. But post a screenshot - it would be helpful to identify what is GAIST and what is default. I will look into the wakes but it won't be right away but should be fixed for the next update which will hopefully not drag out so much.

I can't do screenshots for AVSIM, but in the Channel is Santona a gaist one, it is moving towards Dover? I am static sitting on the water, watching! Santona is definitely a GAIST one 😄 And it is probably going to Dover because it has roughly the same dimensions as Cote d'Opale which serves Dover for DFDS. Hopefully Asobo will implement IMO or MMSI identification numbers in the sim.cfg in the future - then we can have the exact ship in the exact spot. Edited May 25, 20251 yr by KL791
May 25, 20251 yr I just checked the reliability of the Model Matching and lets say it's "interesting" I tried to find out where the German Navy's famous sailing training vessel "Gorch Fock" is currently at and marine traffic says it's currently moored at Ponta Delgada in the Azores. Nice location. So I checked whether live traffic has those positions. Yes, it does, but the model matching is basically non existant. None of the ships currently moored there match even closely how they really look like. The Gorch Fock is represented by a Royal Greenland Fishing Trawler. The biggest trangression is the INMOCEAN at the container terminal. That's a sailing yacht. In the sim it's the CSLC Indian Ocena. A gigantic container ship. The only ship that is at least the correct type of vessel is the Just JS Yacht, which ich represented by a similar type of Yacht in the sim. Asobo really have their work cut out for them when it comes to model matching. Edited May 25, 20251 yr by Farlis
May 25, 20251 yr They should have left AI ships alone, and let the GAIST masters handle it Christopher Low AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU / 64GB DDR5-6000 RAM / 12GB Nvidia RTX 4070 Super GPU / Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi 7 / 1+2TB Samsung Evo Plus M2 Nvme UK2000 Beta Tester

May 25, 20251 yr Hmmm yes, a Minoan Lines Ferry where the Torpoint Ferry should be ...... 9950X3D - X870E Aorus Master- TUF 5090 OC - 64GB DDR5 - 1500W HXi - Titan 360 RX LCD - 9100 Pro x 2 - LG 45GX950A - HOTAS Warthog with Ava Base
May 25, 20251 yr Thanks for this new release, Henrik. A long-time favourite add-on, and very much appreciated. 🍻 Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting. https://rationalwiki.org

Asobo really have their work cut out for them when it comes to model matching. There are things Asobo can correct and things they can't correct. And especially when it comes to smaller ships the base data is often erroneous. In the sample below type is by owner/ship crew entered as Unknown, with that the matching basically ends up putting a fishing boat of similar size as fishing boat is the fall back option. Now you would believe the Gorch Fock would be registred as a Sailing Vessel, but no... It is registred as a Military Ops And as there is no navy ship with these measures available among default or GAIST ships, again default is a fishing vessel of same size... Finally, especially smaller pleasure vessels sometimes have completely crazy values entered - on purpose or because someone mess up meters and centimers or feet or inches or whatever.... Consequence is that a huge container ship is matched for a small pleasure craft because it is the only one with kind of similar dimensions... I will see if I can do a small work around for some of the wrong type issues - it can be launched as a separate addon, but it can not solve all and it will not make sure that the right ferry is on the right route. The best would be to have Asobo give space for one or multiple MMSI numbers in the sim.cfg for each sim.cfg entry and match on MMSI number as then you will get exactly the right ship. Please make a ticket for that in their system 😄 I have written it to Jorg at several occasions - last time today in the early morning 😄
