June 15, 2025Jun 15 Thank you again for a fantastic upgrade, Henrik! A couple of years ago you have created a very nice vintage AI ship traffic for P3D. I was able to port it over to FS2020 (no wakes, no smoke, but they moved), but of course it will not work in FS2024. Do you have any intention to eventually upgrade it also to work in FS2024? Thanks. Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
June 15, 2025Jun 15 It’s a rainy day outside, bicycle is parked, house is cleaned so no pressure for doing other stuff… 😄 The first ships in GAIST where all big… those you can see from a big distance after all it is a flight simulator… With more than a thousand unique models now it is about filling gaps in the fleet as this is again something which can improve match rate. So today my Blender had to give birth to a catamaran yacht - the first in the fleet. Still just work in progress, but it should be done before the rain stops… Also thanks to those who have chosen to donate - another gap to fill was medium sized tanker around 150 m and that was filled by purchasing a model. Now it needs to be completed with LODs, lights and wakes, but that is faster than starting from scratch. The donations were also used to purchase new people for the boats. I used to do people myself, though even with a lot of time spent on modeling results were so so - today the 3D scanned people makes life a lot easier.
June 15, 2025Jun 15 Thank you Henrik, looking forward to the newest version once I return home from vacation. The continued addition of added routes for the offline version is much appreciated at this time. Perhaps at some point in the future the real time component will provide a satisfactory experience to the SIM but at this time I personally prefer the offline version, so more routes everywhere adds that much more to the "immersion" as everyone likes to say. Thanks again for GAIST! Ken
June 15, 2025Jun 15 I only use the offline version. In fact, I had no idea that there was a "real time" online option! You mean these old ones... 😄 I just spoke with Knud from the GAIST team who helped with conversion of the GAIST models from FSX/P3D to MSFS and maybe there is hope, but don't expect anything very soon. We still both have models without LODs and ships without helipads and wakes and ...
June 15, 2025Jun 15 Yes, I mean these ones. It would be superb to have them ported to FS2024. But of course I understand, that this will take time to be realized. Many thanks! Some of the oldies are already in the project because they are still going strong in real life and can actually be taken directly from GAIST... Also I did aditional old timers since the P3D project so there is a nice base, but it would at last time be for limited areas only. It would be nice to know if anybody has back ported airports to 1960'ies in MSFS like it was the case with CalClassic in FSX.
June 15, 2025Jun 15 Henrik, they look really nice and it doesn't matter, whether they would be only for a limited area. In FS2020 I found them near Gibraltar and on the river Elbe for example: As I said, they moved, but no wakes and steam, Bernd Any attempt to stretch fuel is guaranteed to increase headwinds My specs: AMD Radeon RX6700XT, AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, 32GB RAM, 34" monitor, screen resolution: 2560x1080
June 15, 2025Jun 15 We are being seriously spoiled here. So many great looking ship models. That aircraft carrier looks nice, so if you could just squeeze that in somewhere (preferably near the UK), it would be greatly appreciated Oh, what the hell......I'll take the lot! June 16, 2025Jun 16 Sadly with 7.1, I see no traffic using the settings from AIG for offline AI traffic. What is wrong? I installed the additional routes, might this be the culprit? Had reasonable amounts with 7.0 and the exact same settings, checking with LNM. No ships in LNM, no ships visible... AddonLinker the culprit? June 17, 2025Jun 17 What is the problem in the MSFS2024 real time boat traffic? MSFS shows the boat type AIS data correctly, but the actual 3D model does not match to the type at all.

AddonLinker the culprit? Chris, did you find a solution? I'm currently converting to MSFS24. AIG air traffic is already working in 2024. I have the GAIST 7.1 in my community folder and tried several settings according to https://www.alpha-india.net/2025/05/25/msfs-ai-traffic-settings/ but I have yet to see any ai ship. Is there a special setting in AIG (Manager or Controller)? - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

Is there a special setting in AIG (Manager or Controller)? Not really a solution, but a "workaround" that functions pretty consistently: always start your flight with the setting "Real-Time Online", let the ships load in and only then switch to "AI offline". Then the ships are there and follow their routes. Starting the sim directly with "AI offline" results in no ships on my side, even after several minutes they do not load in. But the workaround also works in this situation, simply switch to "real-time online", letting ships load in, and then back to "AI offline" and you will end up with .bgl controlled ships moving around.
