June 26, 2025Jun 26 This works, but the problem is that the AI air traffic is then gone. Is there any way to have both Gaist ships AND AI air traffic working at the same time? Edited June 26, 2025Jun 26 by cobalt
June 28, 2025Jun 28 OK, today I find that it it works. No idea why, as I haven't changed any settings. But I do have Gaist and AI real-time aircraft both working now. Maybe it depends on the day of the week ...
July 3, 2025Jul 3 Really happy, I am in SU2, and the 7.1 works in FS24 and I observe them very far, like in FS20 in AI mode in settings. I have to test in live online ships also. Don´t forget like me this, I didn´t know about it https://flightsim.to/file/93877/gaist-extra-routes Things to improve are that: I miss an option to increase the refresh rate of the ships sailing when you are close and they do it automatically, they are still like stuttery at 10fps, and in VR, I don´t know if in 2D also, the foam trail moves with your position or your head movement, misaligning it with the ship. July 3, 2025Jul 3 The live traffic is really something. I tested it last week at the big day of the Kiel Regatta when all the windjammer ships were doing their parade. Sure model matching was not the best but there were more than enough correct or more or less correct models being used to really get an idea what an awesome event this is. Thanks for the observation on the wakes. I will look at the wakes sometime soon. Not for the next release which will be in about 3 weeks as I need to work on wakes when I am home and have some continuous days available for programming and testing. While I am travelling I mostly do modelling which I can jump to and from. Programming requires more concentration.
July 23, 2025Jul 23 Together with the next release of GAIST there will be a separate new package GAIST Harbors. It will place static ships in a great number of harbors worldwide using the close to 3000 ships included in the GAIST library. The project supplements GAIST traffic and focuses on commercial and naval vessels, but only places a limited number of leisure boats, as there is already excellent addons placing static leisure boats. In fact I have tried to make sure the placement of vessels matches with Mamudesigns Marina addon. The project has progressed fast in the last weeks and below some screenshots. The tine Basque Getaria harbor near San Sebastian, Spain. Mamudesign to the left and typical Basque fishing boats from GAIST to the right and in the background. The Port of Rotterdam, Netherlands with the combination of GAIST Harbors and GAIST offline traffic. Bremerhaven, Germany, again with GAIST offline traffic in the foreground and GAIST Harbors static ships in the background St. Jean de Luz near the border between France and Spain including GAIST Harbors leisure boasts as well Honolulu, Haweii including some of the new typical Hawaiian longline tuna boats which will come in GAIST version 7.2 Barcelona, Spain. The larger yachts are all from GAIST Harbors while the smaller boats are from Mamudesigns. There is also a photogrammetry yacht to the left that I could't hide without going radical with exclusions files. Another photogrammetry yacht is hidden inside one of the larger yachts.

July 23, 2025Jul 23 Awesome. It would be so nice to see Vancouver harbour included in this new feature. It desperately needs ships anchored in English Bay and a couple cruise ships at the Canada Place pier.

I will add it for sure; the addition of a medium sized harbour doesn't take more than 20-30 minutes if one knows the library well... The most time consuming is to remember ship names to get the right models there.
