msfs200 flight plan export issue

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone

Can some body please advise how to export flight plan in the .flt format into msfs 2020.

I used the standard export format in the little nav, it send the plans in .pln format.

When I try to load the plan in msfs 2020 I cannot see it.

Many thanks.

The FLT format is for whole flight including aircraft status (more or less ...). LNM does not save this format.

The multiexport options contain a separate export "Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020" which saves PLN flight plan files.

I know this post is dated but I am having the same issue - flightplan export from LNM in .pln format but MSFS is looking for .flt format. RWY12 I would be interested in how you figured out where you were going wrong, and how to load the .pln format into MSFS.

Many thanks for your help.

MSFS will allow you to load .pln and .flt files from the World Map Load/Save screen before the flight is started. Once the flight has started it is only officially able to load .flt files to reset the whole flight to a saved state. It is possible to fool MSFS into loading a .pln file mid flight, by typing '*.pln' into the selection box and then selecting the appropriate .pln file from the list, but this appears to be unsupported, and may not work properly. For example the loaded plan might be loaded as far as ATC is concerned but the FMS might not be updated, etc. Use at your own risk.

Why thank you very much. That was very helpful.
