November 22, 20205 yr Moderator I ran across this on Daily Kos this afternoon and decided to share it here, as it is sorta-kinda related to flying... Quote Grab a tissue, brace yourself for an extreme case of goosebumps and enjoy what might be the most beautiful video of the year. It shows Marta C Gonzalez, a former prima ballerina who danced with the New York Ballet in the 1960s, sitting in her wheelchair at a nursing home in Valencia and listening to the finale of Swan Lake through headphones. As she does so, she begins to go gracefully through the choreography she learnt decades ago. And that’s not even the most remarkable part. Ms Gonzalez, who sadly died last year, was suffering from Alzheimer’s disease at the time. Watching her re-creating her graceful movements and comparing it to actual film of her 1967 performance brought tears to this old man's eyes. Fr. November 24, 20205 yr Life is a collection of memories that sustain us as we age. That is why I am almost abscessed with flight simulators because of the memories of flight they bring back to me. Watching her move her arms let me share her joy of memories past. Those are the most precious things we have left after we move on. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
