Unexpected Altitude restriction at FL060/6000 on departure

Recommended Posts

Hello,

When I am departing from an airport, after passing FL060/6000 during the climb, the ATC request me to descent to FL060/6000, whereas on the Departure clearance I was told to proceed "as filed"

I am using VoxATC 7.43, FS, with Navigraph AIRAC Data.

Does anyone experience the same issue?

Thanks,

Usually you are given an initial altitude restriction of around 6000 ft AGL in the departure clearance along with the 'as filed' instruction. If not, there will be some restrictions in the SID you have been assigned.

Thanks for your answer Tegoid.

I checked the SID ELBEG7S for LFSB, and the Initial climb clearance is 7000, and there is no other altitude restrictions, but VoxATC was telling me to descend to 6000.

Is this a default behavior to set a 6000 restriction?

Regards

The default is 6000, I can see that on the SID plate the clearance altitude is 7000 ft but there is no corresponding restriction in the NavData that VoxATC uses. You should have been given an intial altitude to maintain in your departure clearance.

OK thanks for your clarification, unfortunately, no mention of 6000, only "cleared as filed" given in the Departure clearance...

I sometimes get a "Maintain 6000, expect FLXXX 10 minutes after departure" but not always.

Thanks

In this case you should get an altitude as part of the departure clearance. It's been confirmed that that does not happen which needs looking into. For now, if there is no specific altitudes associated with the sid waypoints on the plate, assume that it's 6000 ft AGL
