World Update II Elevation problems

Recommended Posts

The good news is that Southern Vancouver Island got new elevation data, the bad news is, that this is not what it looks like in real life.. was better before..

The new update improves Niagara falls, so most likely.

These are not elevations problems they are water polygon problems. The mesh is now so accurate that it would show the exact coastline. However the waterpolygons which flatten the terrain seem to be slightly off from their real world coordinates. And that is why you get those anomalies.

My conclusion based on my testing is that they have ruined my sim.

They definitely need a US Update V2, this is not acceptable, too many errors all over the place.
They should not be moving onto other areas, as much as I love this sim, the overall direction is sorely lacking and seemingly random.

After more than 3 months there are still entertaining things that keeps me watching this place. The world update thread is full with errorneous landscapes, Google also has some limitations, but still they manage to do things worse with every patch.
