Carenado PA 44 - Cold and Dark Failure to Start Engine

sd_flyer: How are you leaning mixture in PA44 without EGT to go by?  I'm adjusting and watching GS in small increments which while effective is laborious and prone to error.

There is EGT gauge and  it works on my side. So I lean by it.

Really?  EGT creeps for me but no reaction to mixture changes are apparent.  It changes very slowly which is perhaps how this aircraft behaves but I've been accustomed to more rapid reactions to mixture changes.  How long from adjustment to EGT change for you?

OK thanks! So I played with it more and I DO see it moving.  It is a bit sluggish though, I'm guessing this is normal for these engines?

In regards to the airplane batteries, power, etc. not working. I had " Extend battery life" checked in the fsuipc7 Miscellaneous section. Once unchecked all was good.
