Friday Morning Joke...

Recommended Posts

An English professor and an old Marine gunnery sergeant were the last two contestants left standing at the end of a quiz show.  Their scores were tied.

The MC said that to break the tie each one would have to write a short poem during the commercial break.  The last word of the poem had to be Timbuktu.

After the commercial the English professor recited his poem first.

Far across the desert sand,

Wound the Sultan's caravan.

The camels passed two by two,

Their destination Timbuktu.

The then old gunnery sergeant stood up and recited his.

Me and Tim in the desert went,

There we found three broads in a tent.

Them being three, and us being two,

I bucked one and Tim bucked two.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

I predate you Sue.  I first heard it in boot camp in 1952.
