NavData Reader Tool

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have installed the FS-ATC-Chatter into pilot2ATC.   I have also downloaded the Navdata Reader tool to create a new sqllite database.  There are tutorials on how to replace the default database in FS-ATC-Chatter but I see nothing about how to do so in Pilot2Atc.   What relationship does this tool have with Pilot2Atc and how do I use it once new DB is created?

You cannot replace the database in Pilot2ATC except by getting an updated DB from Navigraph or NavDataPro.  The P2A database has nothing to do with the Chatter files.

FS-ATC-Chatter has chatter files in a file structure that you copy to P2A's installation folder.  See the instructions for Chatter in the User's guide for P2A located in the Documentation folder of Pilot2ATC.  P2A refers to them as X-ATC-Chatter as that is where they came from.

Thank you.  So I can infer by your response that the Navdata Reader is only for the standalone FS-ATC-Chatter player and not for Pilot2ATC?   If I fly from the US to Europe, do I have to manually switch the chatter from US to Europe during flight or will the Pilot2ATC player recognize the COM frequency and change to use the appropriate chatter when over that airspace?

Just to add to what Dave said. The NavDataReader tool is only needed if you plan to use the stand-alone chatter player that comes with FS-ATC-Chatter. When using the clips with PilotATC you will not be running the stand-alone player as Pilot2ATC plays the chatter files.

That helps in my understanding.   Really appreciate it.
