March 2, 20215 yr I downloaded and installed the patch, and it's greatly improved. The problem I have is that when I select the H135 at an airport, it comes up saying that i collided with an object, so the only way I get to fly it is to select another aircraft to take off then change to the H135. 🤪 J. March 2, 20215 yr Have mentioned this previously - if you can’t wait for MSFS, try flying the Helos in ARMA 3. Select the Advanced flight model in options and enjoy what I believe is one of the most accurate Helo sim experiences available - especially considering this is not a dedicated helicopter sim. The only aspect that might not be modeled accurately is that separate throttle and collective controls are not provided. Of course, there are real Helos out there that also tie the collective to the throttle. You can choose from several highly detailed 3D maps, representing different environments, to fly in in the excellent editor software. This is NOT arcade-level stuff. Most people can get around in the simplified “Standard” flight model (and it IS a lot of fun), but once you select the “advanced” flight model, be ready for a serious challenge. You really need a good joystick, rudder pedals, and Track IR to enjoy it to the fullest. And there are many different models to choose from, both military and civilian. All are based upon real-world models. They just look slightly different. Be careful. You may be tempted to log on to a multiplayer ARMA server (NAK is excellent) and fly people and cargo around - or even fly a gunship. By the time MSFS has Helos, I will be well prepared for them due to the flight training and practice I’ve accumulated through ARMA. BTW - I do have a rotorcraft rating and 60 hrs of actual RW flight time. Intel [email protected] GHZ. 32 GB RTX 4070 Ti OC

Has anyone spoken to Fred Naar? the author of HTR to see if it could be modified to work with MSFS? He has done a tremendous amount of work already on helicopter physics. Well, my friend, here is the right answer for you 😀 ...... New Airland screenshots, Fred Naar promises big news “soon” Just a few excerpts out from Sergio Costa's great article about Fred Naar and his developing, brand new Helicopter simulator Quote HTR – Helicopter Total Realism has put Fred on the map as a developer as he released this software, for free, for the community. HTR connects to FSX or P3D and drastically improves (and I do mean drastically) the flight dynamics. Remember the Dodosim 206? That is the potential of HTR as the theory behind it is the same: inject physics from the outside of the sim, making everything better and more realistic. Quote The project (Airland) is no longer a one-man-show. In fact, there are now 3 persons working on the project, “with a few external ones helping as well”. The project became an actual team project, not just the hobby of a passionate rotorhead. In the last link AIRLAND you'll find all the other Airland related links and articles Sergio has listed. Anway, 1000 thanks to Sergio Costa for this important hint, because without his endeavor we would probably not even know that Fred "The Legend" Naar is anything developing. All the best to Fred and his team, Thank you !

March 4, 20215 yr While the h135 was flying okay before, today I've suddenly got a bug where the heli takes off for a few seconds and then either the collective is reducing or the throttle is reducing and I drop to the ground. The sound disappears shortly after the heli lifts off so it's hard to tell what's happening with the engine. Cyclic still seems to be working okay during the short time I'm in the air. Has anyone else experienced this?

March 5, 20215 yr lol yes. Turning developer mode on/off seems to have fixed it again. 👍 V6 seems to be going okay too. For me, the lack of progress on fixing the sim's bugs and performance in VR, was starting to make things feel a bit stale, and this has injected new life into it! Thank you for taking the time to develop this and making it free 🙂 Edited March 5, 20215 yr by dogmanbird
March 6, 20215 yr This thing is great. I read a lot and found a vid on youtube, decided I would give it a try. Wasn't expecting anything but trouble. I've got a Warthog Hotas, I set my throttle as "reversed" and changed my grey slider axis as a "prop" axis. setup on a runway and it worked. Warthog Throttle is the collective and the grey slider is the throttle. Before Ctrl-E, decrease the "throttle" , Collective down (or forward). once engine stabilizes, turn "throttle" up and pull the collective up and go. I was impressed they have got this working. The flight is acceptable and responds accordingly, Only real rough spot is pulling the collective at a certain spot, it just jumps into the air. Not able to take off gradually, but it only jumps up about 15 to 20 ft, so no real problems. Landing - piece of cake, as normal drop the collective a bit, raise the nose and come to a soft landing. Who said no choppers until 2022??? It' not a DCS Huey, but for MSFS, it's great for a start. March 6, 20215 yr Downloaded WU3 today and took a flight to London. I went to fly thru the London Bridge and it crashed me. I had turned off failure and damager in Assistance. I turned them back on and it would crash when you hit Fly, at an airport. Starting off an airport and there's no problem. 🙃 J. R.
