How to tell P3D version?

What 's the best way for me to tell whether I am running v5 or v5.1.  I thought I installed v5.1 but don't see any difference.

Run P3D, select Help from the drop down menu and then the About line. The full version will be found there.

you can also go to windows add/remove programs.  If you search for Prepar3d it will show you your versions.

Thanks, but looks like add/remove doesn't identify point releases.

It does if you look closely at each client, content and scenery portion

Look at the client version number: 

5.0.31.35253 is v5.0 HF2
5.1.8.26742 is v5.1
5.1.12.26829 is v5.1 HF1
