Good point, I'd forgotten about the subspace relay stations. As for meteorites, was driving down to Devon many decades ago, in the middle of the night. Thought we'd try it at night. Bad idea, wanted a pee every 5 minutes so did my ex wife. But while we were relieving ourselves in bushes along the route the sky was teaming with meteorites. Think it must have been the Perseid's.

Those that are human, are usually as a result of colonization or alien kidnappings or some other plot device. They speak English due to the "universal translator". I can see you aren't a Trekkie. https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/Universal_translator Edited December 14, 20205 yr by martin-w
December 14, 20205 yr Anyway, all of that anachronistic Star Trek malarkey pales into insignificance when compared to the hilarity of TNG with Counsellor Troy, whose vital job (usually after some mystery spaceship has just fired a salvo at the Enterprise and thrown everyone all over the bridge) was to come out with the massively intuitive and helpful: 'I sense anger.' Really? Well no s*** Sherlock! Although having said that, her stating the obvious and clearly just being there for her boobs, is brilliantly parodied by Sigourney Weaver in Galaxy Quest. Yup, so as I said, there are people already there. And yup, I actually am a massive Star Trek fan incidentally, although more for the original show than the other stuff. You can't beat Kirk having a fight with that Gorn lizard captain in 'Arena'. It's daft but brilliant at the same time. Ironically though, the best stories in the original Star Trek tend to be the ones which eventually got used for the animated TV series of Star Trek which was made after the live action show was cancelled. This is because the scripts tended to be the most ambitious ones, which unfortunately ended up getting shelved when the original show was still being made, because they would have required too much in the way of special effects and expensive props and sets etc. Subsequently of course when all that could be easily animated without having to worry about set construction and TV special effects, it became possible to use those ambitious scripts for the animated series, and since almost every original cast member is doing the voice overs for that series, and occasionally directing too, it's usually quite a good watch. You can buy a boxed DVD set of all the episodes of the animated show, and it really is worth having for these reasons if you are a fan of the original show. December 14, 20205 yr Years ago when I lived in Denver I attended a writer's seminar hosted by Star Trek NG writers. They said the most popular show ever was the one where Picard lived an adult lifetime where he had a wife and children on a dying planet. I gotta say that was my all time favorite episode too. It turned Picard into a normal human being. Four or five days a week we get a whole evening of Star Trek episodes on BBC America on our cable network. A string of 10 of 12 episodes. Since I've seen most of them I check the episodes out and watch any of them I am particularly fond of. When I was in the National Guard weather flight on drill weekends my commanding officer and I would go out to eat at a favorite restaurant Saturday evening and then retire to his BOQ room and watch the weekly Star Trek NG episode and sip a dram or two of The Glenlivit. We started out with his bottle of Dewars but then when those Saturday evenings became routine I would go halves with him for a bottle of The Glenlivit. We took turns on who would get the remainder of the bottle to take home. I have had only one personal sighting. I was on a late night flight from Denver to Salt Lake City. The stewardess was called up to the cockpit. A couple of minutes later she came out and started looking out the window on the port side of the cabin (the side on which I was sitting). I looked out the window and saw a very bright light moving along with our aircraft. I don't know how high it was. All of a sudden it made and instantaneous 90 degree turn and flew over the aircraft to the other side. The stewardess went to starboard side and looked out a window. I remained seated thinking I would read about it in the newspaper the next day. After a couple of minutes the stewardess went back up to the cockpit. Nothing ever showed up on the TV news or in the paper. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

The nice thing about this is that I trust you guys to be truthful, rather than the nutters that claim such things on YouTube.

I would say it was based on my knowledge of the conventional civil and military aircraft of the day. But I don't know how high it was and it was travelling about the same speed of our B737. Given that I can't say for sure. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
December 14, 20205 yr I married an alien. Mostly, she's been friendly. We definitely won't be able to eat all of their health food when the other girls from her planet (it's an all girl planet...) will move. But there were times when she went into invasion mode. And that was scary. Edited December 14, 20205 yr by CYXR

December 15, 20205 yr Moderator Considering some testamony from some astronaughts, military pilots, airline pilots and a president or two that have come forward and given eye witness accounts, I keep an open mind. Is it unlikely, yes, but there are probably a lot of things going on here on earth and in the reaches of space that we don’t know about. I have a hard time putting aside some of the accounts I’ve read from those type of people, unless they are just feeding disinformation at the request of the government. It would be very interesting if we ever do get to the bottom of any of the credible claims and it turns out that the government or other governments have indeed recovered actual material from supposed crash sites or have actual knowledge of visitors from other worlds. I think the worlds population has been desensitized enough by now that there wouldn’t be widespread panic. If visitors from other worlds have indeed been here or are here and have that technology and wanted to harm us, they probably would have done it by now.
