Cannot taxi and take off in Flightbeam KDEN

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I found that when I taxi in KDEN the aircraft would suddenly tilt. It seemed that the aircraft would sink down at some points in the ground. The aircraft I used was PMDG 747-8F. Taxi route was from Gate A37 to RWY25. Then in runway 25 It happened again and could not take off. It Also happened in some taxi ways near RWY25. I did not test all runways and taxi ways but I think this could happen randomly at anywhere in Flightbeam KDEN. I have reinstalled KDEN but it didn't work. The p3d version I used was v5.1 HF1.

Do you use orbx Central rocky mountains region?  I feel like I’ve had to disable the KDEN files in that for the flightbeam airport to work properly.

I don't think CRM has anything to do with this...Orbx CRM's coverage area doesn't come anywhere close to KDEN.  I just checked, and there are no KDEN files in the CRM scenery folder.

This issue looks to be a result of the airport elevation being raised 0.915m in the P3Dv5 default KDEN airport scenery and/or mesh from what it was in v4.  In the thread referenced above on Flightbeam's site, there's a revised ADE file created by another user that corrects the base elevation to match the default airport and mesh so there are no invisible bumps from the underlying terrain protruding above the pavements.

Checkout Aerosoft EDDF for v5 it uses sloped runways and all taxiways have a height elevation on the nodes, slew over the hard standing on the west and you will drop down a hole in some places.

Although the .zip file does work to fix the sunken taxi signs and the other issues like mentioned in the OP, it also makes the entire airport dead flat. There are supposed to be some minor elevation changes around the airport that are no longer there. So, it's half fixed (but usable) for now.
