December 10, 20205 yr Moderator @fakeflyer737 and @BerndB, neither of you have mentioned the banned utility or its author so you're fine. Discussion of any other star program including Chris Wright's is fine. 👍 Ray (Cheshire, England). First turn down the limiting magnitude to 5.0. or even lower. For me this gives me less stars to be seen. Because you are from Ontario, of course you know that you can see many many stars especially on clear and cold winter nights, but this is more or less the exception for a flightdeck crew in a iluminated cockpit at night. For my taste the standard ammount of stars of P3D is way too much and because of the bright big "white dots" it´s even worse. If you turn down the ammount of stars by the magnitude it looks more realistic. With the setting for the colourstrength and brigthness it turns out in the sim, that you can see different sizes of stars and even colour differences (some are white, red, blue) as in reality. I can provide you my settings for a start point when i´am back on my sim. Bear in mind, it slightly improves the nightsky compared to the stock version. But don´t exspect perfection. Apologizies, your post was hidden not because you were posting about the banned product but because you quoted a post that was talking about it. We generally don’t like to edit users posts, so we'll just hide it if it contains a quoted post that ended up being hidden. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
December 10, 20205 yr To clarify further it is not just one particular product which is banned - the developer himself is persona non grata and thus anything which is produced by him and his team (I assume he has a team) is also "product not allowed" One can of course use the products in the privacy of one's own sim, but they are not discussed on AVSIM.
