MCE and talk to ATC feature MSFS2020

Recommended Posts

Hi

just keen to know if this feature work fully in MSFS 2020. I dont care much about other features like communicating with copilot etc (I fly the C152 and other small GA) but really beeing able to speak to ATC rather than using keyboard meny options has always been why I have used MCE in the past for P3D.

Generally works well, but I have not found how to successfully communicate at a non-tower airport.

So, I would tune to appropriate frequency and say "Traffic, [CALL SIGN], Taxing to runway XX departing NORTH"

I have built in ATC checked to repeat my command (that way I know it is working), but I do not hear the built in PILOT respond to my words.

I've also tried variations of this such as "KPOV (Kilo Papa Oscar Victor) Traffic, taxing to runway XX departing NORTH" and still no repeat by built in pilot.

Having said that, many of the other ATC commands are working well. So, with a IFR plan, MCE and built in ATC works pretty good.

Personally, I think MSFS2020 built in ATC is much better than FSX or P3D built in ATC. I actually like using the built in ATC and MCE.

Thanks flyblueskies, All I needed to know :)

I know default MSFS ATC leaves a lot to be desired right now but it will improve for sure with time.
