Scenic flight South Island NZ. Pt 2. Sat 19 Dec

This week in our tour of NZ south island we fly from Alexandra (NZLX ) - Jerusalem Creek ( N272 ).  A benign flight with a sting in the tail.

  145nm approx 9 landings, 3 asphalt, 2 grass, 2 gravel,  2 dirt.   ( 2 unlisted airstrips included ).

Fly along the Kawarau river gorge from cromwell to Queenstown & over 0r under the famous bungy jumping bridge.

Great route. Surely no one will bother with the Kawarau Bridge as that would be dangerous. That said, this is beautiful mountain scenery. Several of the required climbs and descents will encourage us to get a very close view of the rocks and trees that adorn the vertical ridges. And thanks to your careful planning, all the airports are easily accessible to any highly skilled helicopter pilot as long as there are no winds nor clouds in the sky. What can go wrong?

Almost sounds like a savage-carbon STOL.. Oops wrong sim!- but the PC-6 should do I hope!.

Great shots as usual Roman. [One wonders, though. It looks as though your RV7 got catapulted into the air when getting caught up in a bungy cord under the Old Kawarau Bridge. 😉] Great finale orchestrated by Roger! We really needed to bring along our barbeque equipment for the sunset session on the beach. Lovely memories.
