Astronomers behind the most extensive search yet for alien life are investigating an intriguing radio wave emission that appears to have come from the direction of Proxima Centauri, the nearest star to the sun.

The beam that appears to have come from the direction of Proxima Centauri, a red dwarf star 4.2 light years from Earth, has not been spotted since the initial observation, according to an individual in the astronomy community who requested anonymity because the work is ongoing. “It is the first serious candidate since the ‘Wow! signal’,” they said.

That radio signal has now been translated.

I've managed to receive and translate the signal using a transistor radio linked up to my Captain Jet Secret Decoder Ring. the message is as follows:

'Your call is important to us, please hold, you are currently number 7,246,473 in the queue (then some music starts up) Tall and tan and long and lovely, at least when she's on the side of the tidally-locked Proxima B which faces the main star, the Girl from Proxima Centauri goes walking, and when she passes, each one she passes goes aaah...'

More info re our alien friends...

https://www.planetary.org/articles/aliens-at-proxima-centauri-a-new-radio-signal-raises-the-question

Now of course, it's more likely that it's the microwave oven in the kitchen next door that's responsible for the signal, or some yet identified astronomical source of quite mundane nature.

However... the researchers haven't ruled out aliens at all. So it could be. And of course, that system is known to have an Earth like planet. 😲

Scientists studying archival data collected by the Parkes radio telescope in Australia say they have found a radio signal that came from the direction of Proxima Centauri, the closest star to Earth. Proxima Centauri has at least one planet that may be habitable to life as we know it. There is a slim chance that the signal came from extraterrestrial beings, though other explanations are far more likely.

Now if this were the History Channel, it would DEFINITELY be aliens!

In all serious though, I'm thinking it's probably a call centre. Given that we know where the nefarious individuals pertaining to be from Microsoft are located, they could well indeed have relocated themselves to a planet in the Proxima Centauri System, to avoid prosecution.

Therefore, the next time you get a call, out of the blue, from a person claiming they are working for Microsoft and have detected a problem with your computer, listen out for the delay.

If the delay is precisely 4.2465 years, then you know my hypothesis is correct.

They may have just sent the instruction to Asobo to halt all further development on Microsoft Flight Simulator, but we will not know until it arrives in early 2025

The early radio networks tied Eastern stations together. Blue Coal was a name brand of a high grade anthracite coal, mined in Pennsylvania, and dyed blue. Kids decoded messages on this sponsored show asking them to do things like telling their parents that Blue Coal smells better.
