Combo II works partially

Recommended Posts

Hi, I just installed LINDA for my brand new FS2020. I got a licensed copy of Fsuipc 7 and LINDA says it's all ok regard the connection with the COMBO. I set a couple of switch to change from INFO mode to AP mode and they works, I can see that on the main display. The problrm i that on the MCP, the only button working is CMD A, switching on and off the AP, no HDG, SPD, ALT, VS, FLC etc.
Is it a temporary limitation or is a problem of mine? The radio part works well, the EFIS semms not working too but I have to check better.

Thank you.

Mauro

As mentioned before (a number of times), MSFS2020 only allows limited ability to read data and control systems like the AP. Only default functionality in line with the original FSX can be used (see LIB MSFS2020). Until Microsoft/Asobo provide more data that can be  accessed by FSUIPC7 then we are stuck,

Thanks Andrew, I was thinking the basic AP function were intended as those I can find in the DEFAULT MSFS Library, but trying to assign, for exemple "Autopilot HDG Hold" to the HDG button, it does'nt work. I was only asking if I was doing something incorrect.

Will wait for news.

It depends on the aircraft you are using. As with other Flt Sims (P3D) the more sophisticated the aircraft and systems the less they comply with the original FSX specs. I fly VFR using the C172/C152 in MSFS2020. Most of these AP functions do work. With P3D LINDA has access to a wide range of Lvars which allow us to do more.

Yes, I tried with C172, but regard the autopilot, the only button working is CMD A (Autopilot Master toggle).
Can you please check this pic to see if I'm using the correct setup (Combo is connected correctly, all ok in Linda Setup).

I assume you have created your own C172_ functions in user.lua or elsewhere. The default functions I use for the MSFS2020 Default C172 are:

  • Autopilot MASTER toggle
  • Autopilot ALT hold
  • Autopilot VS hold
  • Autopilot AIRSPEED hold
  • Autopilot APR hold
  • Autopilot LOC hold

These are available in LIB Default MSFS Autopilot controls.

Thanks, I'm not able to use lua language, so far I used to assign functions from the various libraries (I used iFly library for many years).

I'll try again with Default MSFS LIB and will let you know.

You're right Andrew, I was focused on the only one not working in all the basic AP commands, the HDG Hold!

Master, VS, ALT, A/S, APP and LOC are working!

Thank you, hope MS release all the code you need soon.
