I might buy the Mooney and the Seminole at 40% off.  Probably not interested in the 182, I'm not really a high-wing person (except Cubs, which are well-covered in the sim and by freeware add-ons).

I am just comparing in-game prices to buying through 3rd party sellers or direct from devs, and it's interesting to note that Drzewiecki Designs Seattle Landmarks isn't discounted in the Marketplace but is on Orbx's site.

I haven't spotted any other examples so far.

No different to finding a particular Samsung TV has been discounted at your local electrical retailer but is not on special at Walmart.

Possibly, but manufacturers often give discounts to retailers to enable them to offer sale prices without lowering their margins (with some reducing their margin to undercut the competition).

Just found it interesting that MS didn't chose to match the range of add-ons that others were discounting.

Vancouver is cheaper in marketplace than on website.

Never buying a single product from your in-game market place Asobo.  Just like I'm never upgrading to Premium/Premium Deluxe either because of your encryption that prevents third parties from fixing your shameful excuse for avionics! 🤦‍♂️

Only because of the time zones, I didn't knew exactly when the sale on the MS Marketplace started so, first thing in the morning, we started a similar sale on our site as well, and should appear on Simmarket soon too.

Surely not. Marketplace items never require a reinstall. And even those the Community folder don't as well.

The issues with add-ons and updates is if an add-on *redefines* a file that was originally located in the Official folder, and replace it with its own version. For example the Javascript/Html code for some instrumentation, which is something that freeware aircraft mods usually do.

Now, if that *SAME* file was updated by Asobo, perhaps together with other files that depends on it, it's possible the modded file derived from a previous version of the sim could cause problems. But you won't be able to fix this by reinstalling: if something like this happens, the only real solution is just remove the modded add-on and wait for the developers to release an update based on the *new* version.
