I'll try to be kind... No way I would take it on vatsim.  Unfortunately its still a mess.  The AP seems to follow the FD a little better, but cant change the FMC LEGS page and do a DTO on one of the waypoints. Then its just follows the FD in a tight circle. Dont use VNAV at all.  Seems like its not even coded for it. Use V/S for FLCH if you like to walk on fire. Entering an ILS and STAR into the DEP/ARR page didnt add any waypoints to the LEGS page.   In short, still unusable unless you hand fly it. Or maybe its just mine and someone else has a better experience with it.

Its too bad there is no modded project to fix this aircraft up like FBW A32N.

Thanks for sharing 👍

1080Ti here as well and I can confirm.  4k at 80% scaling, mainly high settings, but some ultra, LOD 200.

The issue that was introduced at the previous update - stuttering (especially when viewing sideways out of the cockpit) and the drop in frames seems to have gone.  Much smoother!  👍

No placebo effect as I have actually put my settings back to 80% scaling from 70% and SS back to x8, and it is much better on my specific test flights I use.

Much happier with this, but I really hope they can fix the artifacts; they spoil it! 🙁

Same here.

The increased smoothness and the new reactivity setting which finally brings a feeling of inertia to the aircraft handling are massive steps forward and make this a very positive update for me.

I'm sure they will fix the artefacts soon - nevertheless bugs as obvious as this are really an unnecessary annoyance which just should not happen with a proper beta-testing.

Try do a proper crosswind takeoff in P3D and marvel as your downwind main gear will lift off due to the unrealistic aileron authority on the ground. This is prominent even in PMDG.

MSFS is not perfect in ground to air transition obviously, but it trounces P3D in that regard.

Prosim is able to do it correctly but it is only for cockpit builders.

Regarding in sim ac you are right.

Doing a test flight from PA to Ohio, can report that 95% of the US elevation errors are fixed in my testing so far, but that last 5% is still problematic cause it doesn't take much to ruin a flight.

KLBE to Ohio was almost unflyable before without mods, now I am 30 miles in without seeing a single error. There were about 500 errors in this area before, and all 500 are now corrected. Roanoke wasn't as good, Roanoke had about 800 errors and about 750 were corrected by Asobo's last patch. For the US at least, the errors have primarily been corrected, but some areas remain problematic (like right outside Roanoke).

They are heading in the right direction overall though with the elevation issues for sure. Will keep flying to see what I find.

might I remind everyone that we had morphing, snapping, crackling and popping terrain/ mesh scenery (The Rice Crispies Phenomenon) in FSX/P£D for over 2 decades -  and there was never any plan to resolve that.

Got it, but those issues had not been present in early releases of the sim so what ASOBO has done is make the sim worse.

Are we saying this Asobo mutation started in the South East, and has now spread worldwide? 🤔

There weren't as many mesh issues in P3D or FSX as this game, but Asobo has now fixed most of them in the US now for certain.

I just wish they would have disclosed and told us they were working on it, unless I missed it, I didn't see any news about them fixing the problems from 2 patches ago, they just randomly fixed them without saying anything (pretty annoying).

Wow! The new extremity deadzone option is fantastic, much better feeling, and trimming the aircraft is super smooth now.

Yes, it's worth more than the whole rest of the update to me!

Thanks to all those who have been begging for this.

NOW I can fly the deluxe and premium aircraft without tearing hair out!

The issues were always worldwide, some areas were worse than others. Worst was probably Norway or far Northern Canada (but the aerial imagery is so bad in this area, that I don't really care if they fix extreme N-Canada). I wish they'd get better aerial imagery for some of these northern areas. Norway had fairly good aerial imagery, but terrible elevation problems.

Upgrading my yoke months ago made the biggest difference for me. But definitely a nice enhancements for our controllers.

XBox controller...rudders do not return to 0...if I hit right rudder and let off, the rudder is glued to the right.  Can't fly like this.  When is the next update? 😞

Paul

Found the solution.

Delete and re-assign all the axis (rudder, aileron, elevator). This solved the issue.

What settings are you using which seems to work best after the new patch?

I haven't tried adjusting yet after the new settings, but I agree something was needed (not sure if this new adjustment works well or not). A lot of us are not using rudder pedals and this game has always been difficult to control with a joystick. May work ok with rudder pedals, but my seating position is not compatible with installing rudder pedals as I play from a recliner.

I believe it's been said before that clearing out your terrain cache can fix these kinds of issues with the mesh sometimes?  Worth a shot.

You may be right.  I was thinking of deleting my caches anyway as I'm not convinced that they are of any great benefit with a fairly quick internet connection.
