Weather issue with P3dv5

Recommended Posts

I have recently installed P3Dv5 which runs fine but I have a problem with the weather. Every time I fly (both before and after I installed the latest version of Active Sky).  I cannot change the weather no matter what I do when I start a flight the weather is universal and appears like a fog (max visibility about 3miles). I haven't been able to change this by using the inbuilt weather or active sky weather, I just get this fog like visibility. Everything else is fine. Any pointers or suggestions would help relieve my frustration, thanks.

Not sure this'll work but check and set cloud coverage density to max and restart AS and P3D. Don't bother with the Enhanced atmospherics and just check if realism mode has been clicked and AS restarted.

Thanks I'll give it a go, this situation is driving me nuts. I had no problem with P3dv4.

I just tried the advice given but it didn't change my forever haze and no clouds situation. I am now thinking of either reinstalling P3Dv5 or just having Pred3dv4 and MSFS to play with it is all very frustrating.

No luck but on restart I noticed a message that said  "P3D connection logging does not appear to be enabled" . I would be grateful if anyone could give me an idea of setting up the permissions (or pointer) for any other items necessary to make this message go away?

Running AS as admin? Also, file a trouble ticket at their site. Excellent customer support!

The latest release version, or the latest beta?  Their latest beta as I write this (7660) is annotated as "unstable" on their download page.

In general, it's best to post the actual version number rather than "the latest" so that someone coming along 2 months from now can get some idea of what version is/was being discussed in the thread.  And, more than a few times, what a user thought was the latest version turned out not to be.

Could you try updating your software (if the above is a typo)?

Current official is 7638 and the latest Beta 7660.

i just fixed this on my system earlier today. I wish I had an actual answer, but I resolved it with a complete remove / reinstall of both ASP3D and AS Connector for P3Dv5. It did resolve the exact problem you are having.

One odd thing about ASP3D is that after you install the base software, you get another install routine for the connector. In my case I installed ASP3D in E:\P3D5\ASP3D5\. When the connector installer runs, it asks where the addons folder is and the default is my \Documents\Prepar3D v5 Files\ folder. I let it install using the defaults. Later, I noticed that it actually installed software in the \Documents\Prepar3D v5 Files\ folder instead of just putting an addon.xml file in there like I had expected.

When I reinstalled, I put the main ASP3D software back in E:\P3D5\ASP3D5\ActiveSkyP5\. When the connector installer ran I put it in E:\P3D5\ASP3D\ActiveSkyP5\. Everything worked straight away after that.

Thanks MDFlier I have taken note, I can't remember running a connector installer when I installed P3Dv5.

I rather thought that a complete reinstall might be in the offing. I have put in a bug report to AS. Being the holiday season I might have to wait for an answer.
