PM invisible parts = invisible icon on X-Plane map?

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Not sure if anyone else has had this problem when creating a new plane in PM.

I've attached Blender objects to my plane in Plane maker, but when setting the X-plane parts to 'invisible', the aircraft's icon disappears in X-Plane's moving map.

This is happening on Mac/PC, XP versions 11.41, 11,5r3 etc. I've checked other designer's aircraft, and played with the visibility settings and their aircraft appear just fine on the map. Can't seem to find a pattern to get mine to work.

I'm a relative newbie so maybe I've just been a goof and missed something?

Any ideas to solve this are welcome.

Thanks!

Hi,

you have to make sure that your Blender objects that you've attached to your plane are enabled to cast shadows.

In the _misc objects_ section you have to enable shadows for all objects you want to show up on the map.

Hi Mac Pah,

Apologies for the delay in my reply. You're a star!... Problem solved!

In trying to save processing for my graphics card I had set the shadows to none, but finally solved this year long problem by enabling them.

Thanks soo much for taking the time to help out!

Hi Sherie,

No problem, glad I could help!

I actually had the same problem at some point.

If you still want to disable shadows, you could do that with FlyWithLua and a script.

Cheers!
