WOWW, i did one with now crash..

Recommended Posts

Hi all ,

Today i decided to do a small flight ( 2 hours ) with the 747-8 more for try something but tought that will be crash the Sim anyway

because all flights i have done after the 1.12.13.0 Update crashed somehow.

My try was what i read here and there often, to shut off the cache ( i have made a 100gig cache ) but not to delete

because if i understand this right "off" says there would be no usage from this catch so i don`t need to delete em.

I did this that way : Started FS go in the Option Menü and headed over to the Data part and set the catch to off.

And than i am not goeing on, rather i did close FS and started again for safety is not loading anything of that cache.

Now to say this flight worked fine for me all went well, but shure this does not tell me or us this is the winner solution, there is still more to test, longer flights and more for shure.

But i just want to let you know what i have done to set this flight up and this flight went well so far..

Oh yes and to say i used a new created flightplan made with LNM ( not an old saved ) and saved it for FS 2020 as well and loaded the Plan inside the FS Flightplanner ( World Menü ).

Flight was from EGLL to EDDM.

Here some pics, i found allso that the clouds look better and it seems they done some work on the icing ( on the planes ) with the Patch .1.12.13.0.

1 hour ago, Glenn Fitzpatrick said:

So turning off the cache is what got rid of the 747 crash issues for you ?

It looks so a little bit but still not 100% shure - this 2 flight´s went with no crashes and pretty well.

cheers 😉

I'm not sure that using cache does very much good. Streaming is loading scenery faster then I can fly thru it anyway. The only good thing I see in using cache is that the flights will load faster after you click FLY. But they aren't going to fly any better or be more free of stutters, I don't think.

Yes, interesting you find cache can cause crashes to desktop.

I don`t think also that that cache do mutch if you have lets say a minimum of 25mbit Netconection ( i assume a bit less than that is also possible )

and therefore should not be needed IMO.

But the other side is if there is data in that rolling cache what is from older versions of the Sim and the sim gets this data this could be not anymore compatble with the newer Version you have

and causes those CTD`s.

One thing looks possible for me, if you may need that cache delete the old cache completly and build a new one with the current Version in this case with 1.12.13.0, i think this way it works and you have back the catch if you need em.

cheers 😉

OK, last report about this Issue here for me:

Did a third flight around 4 hours and no crash at all, fine flight ( not so for my passengers, at 36000 feet i got partially 70 to 100kts Wind - WOWW my wingflex allmost scared me..)

and so i think this was the Problem ( CTD`s ) so i will set this experiment for me as solved - hopefully 😏

cheers 😉
