FSX "Easter Egg"? Great for a laugh!

Recommended Posts

Those who have FSX and need a great laugh, open up the R-22 sound folder, and listen to XRotor.wav, XWhup.wav and XWind.wav... These were obviously left in by accident, as they are clearly the dev's "temporary sound effects" during development... :-lol

ROFL... I don't want to spoil the fun, so I won't tell you all what it is. All I can say is that it is worth listening to.

Well, I was up in a Robinson a few months ago and this sounds pretty authentic. OK it was about to go in for a service!

Wild!Do you remember the movie "Mars Attacks" where the Marsians only said "gak-gak gak-gak-gak" through the whole film. That was originally just dummy sound FX from the sound designers, but the director (Tim Burton i think) loved it, and kept it.With a little renaming you can swap the sounds and make a toy-chopper with ready-made sound!Eagle

Another beta tester noticed them first and I simply reported the find here because is IS funny. Now I have a mental image of this (unknown) ACES developer sitting in his office with the door closed, hunched over his microphone and hoping that no one would walk into his office and "catch him in the act," so to speak... :-laugh1 BURBLE-BURBLE-BURBLE-BURBLE... :-rotor

There are a lot of files in FSX that should have been pulled before it shipped. Have a look at the the following "textures" in the texture folder:Group1.r8Group2.r8Microsoft's pre-RTM review process has been lax for some time...
