December 6, 20214 yr Author Thanks for the feedback Steve! I really wasn't planning on picking up the CS freighter/GE expansion...I, like so many others, was really miffed on what CS did with the cargo door fiasco. (I had a weak moment and picked it up...yup, counseling definitely required!) I saw your post over on their site this weekend...I certainly don't blame you (I actually told myself "never again"...until a weak moment came along!). When you look their ACE repaints listing, there are very few liveries available for the GE variants (Pax and Freighter)...I can only assume either a) there are very few painters that own the aircraft, or b) very few people in general have purchased the GE engined expansion. As mentioned, I did pick up the new-ish TSS B767 soundset together with some additional sound mods available from a gentleman with the initials AT. I hate to admit it, but, the aircraft actually looks and flies pretty nice. I, too, have a long love affair with the B767. I'm thinking my next paint project will be the Air Canada "Free Spirit" livery (C-GBZR) with the later (circa 2008) version of the ice blue (toothpaste) tail. I couldn't find a png file anywhere for the old free spirit logo...I just made one up from scratch copying from an aircraft photo. Stay tuned... Regards Rob ps: Your photo above with the AC B747M reminded me of a story back in 1999. I was flying on that aircraft from Toronto back to Vancouver. I'm guessing about 7-10 miles out from touchdown, the pilots received approval for a runway change from 26R to 26L (to facilitate a shorter domestic flight taxi). That change in flight/landing pattern for the B744 so close to touchdown will be a memory I'll have for the rest of my life!

That change in flight/landing pattern for the B744 so close to touchdown will be a memory I'll have for the rest of my life! That is a great recreation for the Free Spirit! I will not deny that out of all the recent CS releases, the 767 looked the most polished...but could never get past what they did to all the 767 customers who bought the pax version day one, who admitted in their forums they bought it only to support them for now, and were anxiously awaiting the freigher...which is, with very few exceptions, the only type flying in great numbers today. Had this been the only time in their history they had done this, I'd say bad show CS and move on...but this has been a pattern for them for a long time, and the reason I would had bought the freighter...only when it came out, and was not trusting anything they said about something not released yet....even if in their own manual it said in the screenshot below: (wonder if they've since changed it to "Cancelled"?) Oh...and they said the word "may" released them from any commitments that it would be done...don't let that word "confirmed" next to the 767 FREIGHTER EXPANSION mislead you. 😉 (I'm sure it made many believe it would be released). I'm pretty sure they changed the wording after the fact too, but I could not find an earlier version of the manual...this is also something they've been caught doing before...cancelling a project than post-editing manuals...and sales pages. I need to stop....I could go on for days, but I'd rather paint. 😉 Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
December 7, 20214 yr Author LOL...I totally agree Steve...I thought the marketing was, at best, on the verge of deceptive. One of my posts over there expressing my displeasure (respectfully!) over the "commitment" to their B767F, and ultimate "walk-back" with the door-less (and sound-less) freighter they did eventually offer was deleted. Unfortunately, for P3D it is the only option for the B767. I'm not going to recommend this for anyone to purchase...I'm mostly making these repaints for myself for the time being. I think there is probably a very small company of users for this model. With the added cost modifications, it actually is not a bad aircraft. Again...my opinion...I'll let others decide if they want to purchase from this particular vendor. Made a little progress on my new ACA Free Spirit repaint...still alot of work left to do on this one...took a little more time to make the main and rear logos from scratch. ...and then noticed an issue with the external model it's trying to reference...hopefully this will be an easy fix...although the paint is for the "4 Door" model, and I've put the textures into the correct folder, the model being referenced looks to be the "6 Door"...right now, the over wing exits are messed up between this livery and the base model. Enough for today...

I saw your post over at CS, would be amazed if CS ever posts a reply. 🤐 Thanks Steve! Much appreciated! Happy how this one has turned out! I don't expect a reply over on their site either...yes, I did figure out how to blank out the first pax window. Unfortunately, windows 15 and 16 are not an option to blank (there are a bunch up to window 14 and a few in the rear, which is a nice repaint option). I did figure it out. The other two (windows 15 & 16) would have been nice to blank for this one...those are right at the free spirit head on the real aircraft. I had to move the free spirit logo back a little to get the beak out of a window and add a little more detail to the wings (additional anti-skid stripes beside the over wing exits)...I think I've been looking at way too many old photos! This repaint has a lot of little details...small script beside the cockpit windows, extra caution tape on the lower portion of the cargo doors, cut-outs for the Star Alliance logo, the additional rear aboriginal logo, etc. Extra work but a lot of fun repainting this one. Had a tough time finding a good "belly" picture of the real world livery to get the grey paint scheme on the bottom. Free Spirit was finished up last night and I'll post it here today (together with the Zoom and Cargojet liveries) in the Avsim Library. Just a couple of minor tweaks to the other two liveries. The texture issue with the over-wing exits was my mistake...wrong fallback texture.cfg file. (Rookie mistake...too many late nights! LOL) One of your earlier photos (with the "classic" Air Canada livery, 1964 - 1992) has tempted me to possibly repaint Fin 631 in that livery...although C-FMWP was delivered new in 1993 with the other white livery...the one similar to, but, before the recent "bandit" livery. Fin 601 (a B762, C-GAUN) did carry that classic livery being delivered in 1982. Ironically, Fin 631 is also the first delivered ERBDSF conversion for the new Air Canada Cargo division. I saw a very recent photo in the last couple of days of that airframe in the mint toothpaste livery...no markings on the fuselage with the exception of the new cargo door (base toothpaste color only) and only the ice blue tail logo (similar to the one I've done here). I assume the new Fin 631 will be repainted in the new ACC colors shortly. I might do a quick version of the blank toothpaste/post-conversion scheme as it was flown from Ben Gurion back to Toronto. I'm into this for $120 (base + GE/Cargo expansion + GE soundset). These repaints will help me enjoy it a little more...and justify the expense! It actually does look really good in the sim. Believe it or not, the wing flex/animation in sim looks so much better than PMDG. I really am enjoying flying this B767. I should take a look at the "repaints request" post over at CS..I might find something "non-Canadian" and interesting to re-do for someone else. Nobody has done an American Airlines livery for the GE variant yet...I'm guessing Brian Thibodeaux hasn't bought this one yet either. I really like unusual/classic liveries (like the Trans-Canada Airlines - Fin 264, livery for the FSLabs A319)...I should try to find my old B767 book and look at some "first delivered" airframes for different airlines...maybe a few of these would be interesting/welcome.

Yes....very nice how she turned out! Hehe...as I was reading (before I got the the last paragraph), I was just thinking...."Man...he needs to branch out see all the wonderful NON-Canadian liveries around the world."😂 This the last Air Canada paint I did I do not like the Bandit scheme (although every time I see it...my mind goes right here as I was a huge fan of the series...back when it was not in reruns (confesses his age LOL)) I'm glad you are enjoying the plane, and I agree it is one of CS's better releases...I just can't get past them abandoning their P3D customers flat out...then literally slap them in the face with a MSFS release of the 767-400 exterior shell, knowing (but not caring) that P3D customers were clamoring for the -400 too. Brian T will not be getting the plane either. 😉 I have a great suggestion for your next 767 paint....There was a painter over in their forums that said if CS presented the right engine options and Freighter features, he'd buy the app and put this livery out for the community. Sadly, CS did what they did, and he thanked his inner critic for not buying her on the "promise" of CS making a full freighter, and a GE engine with sounds...and will never be painting this lovely livery for their 767. 😉 And of course....I paint this beautiful livery (and LH), every chance I get. 🙂 Good luck with your next livery....hit me up if you get stuck and I'll see what I can do to help. 😉 Regards, Steve DraGet my paints for MSFS planes at flightsim.to here, and iFly 737s hereDownload my FSX, P3D paints at Avsim by clicking here
December 9, 20214 yr Author Steve, Your repaints are always an inspiration! You are correct...I do need to branch out from the 'Canadian" liveries...and I totally agree with you on the bandit paint scheme...BARFFFF! So many options with this airframe: Classic Air New Zealand: https://www.airliners.net/photo/Air-New-Zealand/Boeing-767-319-ER/19630?qsp=eJwljbEOgzAMRP/FM0tJVQm20g9oh/6A5RiIRJvI9gBC/DsJ2e7ene52oPg3Xu27JYYelFFohgYSCv4U%2Bh0wCAmONqAGqrX27rpcmaPFFxpPUbYMbw1oFBuyBp/xk4iTsYfK3%2BJZSsRK18FUDlvnuuJYPhW4R7Y%2BaFrwGmLDsMBxnD86N9o%3D Classic British Airways: https://www.airliners.net/photo/British-Airways/Boeing-767-336-ER/20051?qsp=eJwljbEOgzAMRP/FM0tJVQm20g9oh/6A5RiIRJvI9gBC/DsJ2e7ene52oPg3Xu27JYYelFFohgYSCv4U%2Bh0wCAmONqAGqrX27rpcmaPFFxpPUbYMbw1oFBuyBp/xk4iTsYfK3%2BJZSsRK18FUDlvnuuJYPhW4R7Y%2BaFrwGmLDsMBxnD86N9o%3D This Varig one looks really interesting (with the added challenge of the shiny underside)! https://www.airliners.net/photo/Varig/Boeing-767-341-ER/21310?qsp=eJwljbEOgzAMRP/FM0tJVbVs0A9oh/6A5RiIRJvI9gBC/HsTst29O93tQPFnvNpnSwwdKKPQDA0kFPwqdDtgEBIcbUANVGvt1T1yZY4Wn2g8RdkyvDSgUWzIGnzGPREnYw%2BVv8SzlIiVzoOpHLbO3YtjeVfgbtn6oGnBc4gNwwLH8Qc/FDfZ or even the old "Battleship Grey" United livery: https://www.airliners.net/photo/United-Airlines/Boeing-767-322-ER/19640?qsp=eJwljbEOgzAMRP/FM0tJVQm20g9oh/6A5RiIRJvI9gBC/DsJ2e7ene52oPg3Xu27JYYelFFohgYSCv4U%2Bh0wCAmONqAGqrX27rpcmaPFFxpPUbYMbw1oFBuyBp/xk4iTsYfK3%2BJZSsRK18FUDlvnuuJYPhW4R7Y%2BaFrwGmLDsMBxnD86N9o%3D The LTU one you posted looks interesting...although for now, I'm going to stay away from winglet models (personal preference). I really like the older KLM livery...like the one you posted (flew on that one in RL as well). There are some classic Lauda liveries out there too...looking to see if the B763 was ever painted in a classic Lufthansa scheme...that would take a priority. Too many...too little time!!! It's not a Canadian livery this time...but as I was placing the flags on the fuselage I realized I still haven't left the Commonwealth...
