Issues with RC4

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

First of all Happy New Year. I recently reinstalled both FSX and RC4 on my PC. FSX is on a SSD and RC4 is installed on my HD in C/Radar Contact with the Meatwater voice mods. What's happening is the following. RC launches with no problem but then after a bit it stops responding, no error messages or anything,  when I go to the taskbar the icon is present but not active. Now originally when I reinstalled it to Program Files I had a lot of issues, it was suggested I copy it to the C drive. That worked for a while but now I have the above mentioned issue.

Thanks,

  Ed Kammerman

Hi Ed. Happy New Year. Not enough info I’m afraid. Do you tune for Wx and then get Clearance with no problem?

Are you cleared to line up and then take-off? If so, at what point does RC4 become unresponsive?

Hi Ray,

Most of the time I get WX and Clearance, Pushback, Ground and Tower after that's where I lose all contact with the program.

Ed, Not much to go on. Try engaging Otto who will acknowledge comms. See if that fixes the problem. If it does we can take it from there.

Switch to him when you’ve been cleared to take off. CTRL+Shift+K from memory.

Hi Ray,

Just thought I'd give you an update. Firstly thanks for all your assistance. I was able to complete a flight from Heathrow to Kennedy using RC4. So I got tired of struggling with my SATA C drive. So I bought an internal SS drive, what I didn't realize was all my drive letters changed including my eternal SSD. That messed up my FSX install, so I finally  decided to do a complete reinstall of FSX, which is actually coming along nicely.

@ek1, thanks for letting me know Ed. That should fix your problem. 👍
