50-60 FPS on lowest settings?

Recommended Posts

Seems I don't really get any high FPS no matter what I do. I just set EVERYTHING to minimal. Render Scaling = 50. Terrain Level Detail: 10

The rest on LOW or OFF. Aircraft: Airbus. Location: Gatwick.

I expected FPS of at least 150 but no.... I was still on 50-60 and it looked like a joke.

Display: 1080P Monitor | 8700K @stock | 32 GB RAM | ASUS GTX 1080ti OC Gaming | Latest NVIDIA drivers.

Is this normal?

FYI: I don't need or want 150 FPS per se but I am trying to find the root cause to the really bad VR performance I have and something is not right in 2D. Which of course will have a major impact in VR

There is a VR forum. Try that.

Limits of the game Engine mostly I’m afraid.

Have you checked in Dev mode? I suspect you are CPU limited at those lower resolutions at least.

You can get higher FPS with that, but it depends of aircraft and scenery of course.

Here is a screenshot from the Alps in a GA and I am usually getting around 90 FPS in 2560x1440, mix of high/ultra.

A 787 on JFK is another story...

Sounds suspiciously like Vsync

I noticed my FPS do not sky rocket on lower settings either, however with your system you should be able to run high everything and get good frame rates.

I get 30-35 with EVERYTHING on ULTRA, which is pretty smooth. See specs in sig. below.

You must have some type of problem I run 1080P with a 7700k and a 1060 6gig, and I can maintain 45 fps, with a couple settings on Ultra (clouds are one of them)

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-10700F CPU @ 2.90GHz (8 cores) Hyper on, Evga RTX 3060 12 Gig, 32 GB ram, Windows 11, P3D v6, and MSFS 2020 and a couple of SSD's

You are CPU limited then.

You should be able to increase some of the GPU heavy settings.

Maybe try dropping the LOD settings even further I think they might be CPU related.
