Aces Team Questions and Forum Member Theories

Good Morning,We all know that many of us have performance issues with FSX and are hoping for a FSX version of Viagra to magically increase performance on our computers. I have been simming for a number of years. I have finally come to terms that with every new version of FS to expect it to be a performance dog for a few years unless you want to run it with limited features. I was one of the lucky ones to get FSX deluxe before it hit store shelves. I sold it for the amount I paid for it within a day of purchasing it. That was the last time I purchase FS the first day it hits the shelves. It ran horrible on my machine. (AMD 3000, 2 GB of Ram, Nvidia 7900GS, SB X-FI) I consider myself very computer knowledgeable. The computer I used it on was very clean and lean running minimal tasks and processes. Posts I have seen mention that we all know FS is written for future technology because it takes 3 years or so for a new version of FS to come out. These theories for what I can see are to an extent baseless. For processor speed I would say they are correct, everything else no. Example: Direct X 10 cards (8800) hit the shelf a month after FS. Don't you think MS has been working closely with hardware manufacturers in development of these cards? Sure DX 10 wasn't out yet but Vista which has DX 10 went gold a month and a half after FS hit the shelves. One would think more DX 10 code would have been implemented in FS. Another Example: SLI. SLI has been with us for a few years now. MS didn't take advantage of SLI for FSX. Yet another Example: Multiple Core Processors. FSX doesn't take advantage of multiple core processors. To the Aces Team. First thank you for your hard work. I enjoy the FS series. When I see that FSX runs well maxed out with add ons I'll buy it again in a heartbeat. The questions I have for you are why didn't you implement SLI into FSX? Why didn't you take advantage of multi core processors? I know I'm going to get answers from some saying that not all people have SLI and Multi core. MS wants to market to the masses. If FSX doesn't run good on the systems we have and take advantage of the new features of FSX then what

ACES have explained right here why SLI and Multi-core is not supported. It is obvious just from reading the literature in FSX (which of course you no longer have) that FSX is written for Vista/DX9 so your DX10 comments are invalid. Again the aces team spent a good amount of time telling us why DX10 requires a patch, and that patch is some way down the road.Your questions have already been answered. You really ought to try the search function. Because I don't suppose for one minute the ACES team have time to repeat themselves, busy as they are with the first patch, and having answered your question of today only yesterday:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=376475&page=Allcott

lol. You really shouldn't claim to be 'very computer knowledgeable' then spout so much rubbish. Try the search function, it can help answer questions that have been asked and answered many, many times and help you to prevent making false assumptions/claims.Allcott, ya beat me to it!

THX, Thanks for the kind comments. You know me how? Since you have the knowledge to base my questions as rubbish then please provide an answer and not a put down. All I asked was why SLI and Multicore was not used. I didn't bash or put down. Just some simple questions and I get these responses. I guess I don't use the search function because most of the time instead of an informative answer that one would expect I seem to always find some sort of rude comment from someone who cannot answer the question but rather say use the search function or call the question "Rubbish". I appreciate the help and now I wonder why I don't post much here. Allcot Thank you for editing your reply and providing a link the second time. You guys have a Happy Holiday.

You were criticized because you didn't say something positive about MS :)
