New V5 User: Any way to minimize plateau/tabletop airports?

I'm recently transitioning to V5.1, after using 4.5 essentially since launch.  Slowly moving add-on's over has been relatively smooth, and the performance seems slightly better/smoother than 4.5, along with the lighting and visuals.

One aspect I am having a very tough time getting over is the amount of plateau/"tabletop" airports, including many default ones without any add-on mesh, or other terrain enhancements.  I do not have Orbx Vector or anything like that in V5.  I understand this is a side effect of new world data in V5 along with sloped runways, which I appreciate with default airports getting a facelift to include more accurate buildings (relatively) and updated runways or taxiways.  I personally don't care all that much about sloped runways, and while the airport elevations are mostly accurate: is there any update, mesh, or other software that helps minimize this?  It really is immersion-breaking for me when some airports feel like I'm landing on an aircraft carrier with sharp cliffs or hills.  Or is it simply a matter of painstakingly going through with Airport Design Editor and trying to tweak every single airport I try to fly to?  Heck, I'd almost rather have old terrain data if it blends in better.

Thanks.  One of many examples below:

I use PILOT’s AFM2 (Airport Flattening Mesh)to remove the plateau from airports that I frequent.  It’s easy and works nicely... But you have buy one of their mesh products to get access to the download.

What airports are these?

KRIL.

Other examples include: KCOS, KBIL, KAPA, KPUB, BIKF, KASE, KFSD (albeit not too much), KHIF, KSAF, KTWF, etc.

Is it simple to use?  I can't find much in the way of screenshots, reviews, or a description for that matter outside of that small text.

I've used it a few times in v4.5.... just not sure if it works in v5.  It is easy to use so all you need now is to verify it's compatibility with v5.

It does indeed work with v5.1.1.

It is operated by running an executable I've saved to the PILOTS FSGUNG2020 (PILOT's mesh).  It really is a simple interface.

Here is an  example I just performed today in P3Dv5.1.1.  Involving KDSM (Des Moines).

Prior to AFM2 (this is using PILOT's FSGUNG2020 worldwide mesh... BTW you can purchase it by single continent only)...

after...

Here is a picture of the interface (to use the AFM2 the exectuable logs you into your PILOT's account)...

As you can see you can easily uninstall any mesh alterations the tool incorporates into your sim.

It places all of the airports you alter with the tool into one single scenery library entry...

This may help your plateau issues but you would have to purchase one of their mesh products for access to the tool.

take care
