Another graphics card that I won’t be able to get my hands on, brilliant.

Maybe it is just Australia but we have had 30xx  Nvidia cards for sale (with the Australia 10-20%  markup) fairly readily.

I ordered my 3070 just before XMAS and it shipped the same day

The 3080's were in reasonable supply all through December and currently there is half a dozen 3090's and a few different 3070's ready for immediate shipment from a number of mainstream suppliers here including Scorptec and Mwave.

Unless you are obsessed with one precise brand and model there is no huge shortage here.

Thanks Glenn.  Strange how it has more VRAM than the 3060Ti, but it is a welcome improvement.  I was a bit disappointed they never mentioned a launch for the RTX3080 super, as that is the one I am waiting for.

I am so fed-up with the lack of supply and price hiking in the UK that I am just looking to mod my 1080Ti for a bit now.
I can get 30 fps at 4k 70%, and I am alright with that, but the fans are so noisy.  I am looking at a mod that someone posted on these forums to use quieter fans, and that will have to do me for a bit.

Call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind, but I prefer Rob.

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Prices are high here in the states too, if you can find one of the 3xxx cards.  Most legal retail sites and stores are perpetually out of stock.

My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.

The current NVidia line-up is completely screwed up. 10Gb on a 3080 is a joke. And the 3090 is ridiculously priced. If one wants to go with NVidia, then it's best to wait until they have refreshed the entire line-up. A 3080 with more VRAM will be launched eventually, but only God knows when. I couldn't wait anymore and bought a 6900 XT (which is also overpriced, but at least I managed to buy it at MSRP).

This slow dripping of honey style release of these cards is not helping the consumer. How can anyone make a decision when we have no idea what card is round the corner not to mention the shocking stock levels in Europe.

Everything sold out here (U.K.) within minutes, it seems the industry is still struggling with scalpers. The only new card available is the 3090, perhaps because there is less resale value in it or the high price tag in general.

We do not need scalpers here the official distributers add 20% to MSRP the instant tech gear comes into the country and then you add 10% for the Aussie version of VAT,

Stock here comes and goes but always at least a few here you just cannot choose your exact brand and model .  The exception is the 3080 that occasionally goes out of stock.

Some examples (note the following links were available when I posted but stock levels come and go so do not be surprised if some are showing as gone):

I am impressed by that  last one Asus seem to have pulled off a compact 2 slot blower card version of the 3090 ( 268 mm x  113 mm x 39 mm ) .

I note that this card is marketed as OEM any reason why this should be a purchase issue?  Thanks.

Well there is a 16GB 3080 announced.

it just happens to be the mobile one for laptops not a desktop variant.

Yeah. And the 3080ti is postponed indefinitely. Not easy these days. Especially, since I was able to buy a 3080 FE and now have to decide which card to keep (6900 XT or 3080 FE). Information on the Internet is inconclusive. Therefore, I will do my own testing. Particularly to see wether the 10 GB on the 3080 is really a problem. We'll see.
