Reflections -- get rid of them

Recommended Posts

Hi,See attached picture.Parked at EHAM, I see mountain reflections on the windows of the terminal. Is there a way to get completly rid of the reflections? not only here but on all buildings?I moved all the bump and speculars, but still have these.JohanA LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION, AND A LITTLE MORE ACTION PLEASE.."The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one - but still they come!"Ulla!

Hi Johan,Looks like GLOBALENV_AC_CHROME.dds to me (or one of its variants.)I have noticed most of the A/C call for this, as well as some of the ground vehicles. Sure looks like the texture anyways.I backed up the regular one, and renamed the 128 one as it was smaller in size. (Not to get rid of it, but the 128 file is 385 compared to 1537k.)Hope that helps ...Garett

Correction - Sorry Johan,It IS - GLOBALENVTEST.DDS (6145kb) Main texture folder.Renamed mine bak to test (reflection texture gone)- BTW, it only called for it once (as dds, them bmp) and never again.EDIT - I see they are no longer on the windows of the ground vehicles as well. Seems like a pretty big file for a "reflection texture" on a bag cart windshield.Regards,Garett

Yeah that 6MB texture is that size because it's used for one other thing.....the wet runway reflection dome.Set up some rain and park on a runway after messing with that one, you might see some interesting results. ;)I also find it odd that ImageTool can't open it. Ummm...its Aces' texture, can't load with their own image software?Boggles.

Ya, like no reflections ... Looks like FS9. Looks like you cant lose one without the other.I split the difference and went with the globalenvAC_chrome.dds as globalenvtest.ddsSmaller (by 4000K), same effect.I use dxtbmp, never tried the one with the sdk.Regards'Garett

At least now the file size is a more reasonable 1.5MB... ;)
