Who is the developer for PAOM?

It has to be an ORBX thing ; that is the only add-on I have for AK other than PANC.  I think its one of their 'enhanced' airports in global or FTX So_AK.

There's Simwings/Aerosoft PAFA (Fairbanks), and pretty much all of the ORBX Alaska sceneries are very good (PAKT, PAJN, PAGS, PAYA, PAVD, PAHO, PAEN).

There's also a GSX2 config for PAJN that replaces the static jetways with nice animated SODE jetways...I think I got it from the GSX forum download section.

Also, for AK/Yukon there are a good number of decently enhanced but not full-Monte airports included in ORBX SAK and in the ORBX Freeware pack.  Most of the freeware airports need a little ADE work in V5--load the ORBX ADE, go to Tools -> Load stock data, then pull up a list and delete all the scenery objects and signs with attribute IsStock = True.  Save and recompile, and replace the stock ADE (but leave the cvx and objects bgls).  A few also need the rwy numbers changed in ADE due to shift in the magnetic poles.

That gives you a pretty well fleshed-out AK playground--PACV (Cordoba), PAGK (Gulkana), PAWD (Seward), PADQ (Kodiak), PATK (Talkeetna), PACD (Cold Bay), PADK (Adak), PAUN (Unalakleet), PADU (Dutch Harbor/Unalaska), PABE (Bethel), PABR (Point Barrow), PASC (Deadhorse/Prudhoe Bay), and CYDA (Dawson) which are all quite passable given that the airports are fairly austere IRL.  Simaddons Whitehorse is also OK...not great, but OK.

Hey Bob.  My search skills are obviously lacking.  Do you happen to have a link to the Juneau PAJN GSX profile?  I can't seem to find it and would like to get my jetways working there.   thanks. dave

Guys.  Really appreciate the helpful information from your replies.  I've been extremely impressed with my flying up in alaska.  I wondered if this would be an impulse purchase that I don't use.  But I'm not worried anymore.  I had a few questions for you guys:

1. Picked up the RNP procedures that alaska airlines uses (unpublished) to go with the PMDG.  Very nice.  Does anybody know if there is a similar file out there for the FSLabs and/or Majestic Q400?  Also any place on the web I could find the actual charts so I could follow along with my FMS?

2. Anybody aware of a dutch harbor payware for V5?

thanks

Thanks.  I've never used this package.  Does it work in V5?  Can you turn off specific airports?

Yes it does. To turn off airports you will need to delete the files from its folder.

Bought those two already and totally agree. Haven’t flown there yet. But I’ll get there soon enough.

Start out in Valdez with the King Air or your other choice then head out thru the canyon of mountains (You will see what I mean) follow it West/Southwest until you get to a small opening in the mountains to your right near Whittier then follow that canyon of mountains all the way to Anchorage, ANC will be the first thing in town you see. I am from Anchorage originally and have been to Valdez and can tell you ORBX did a good job on the beauty of the area. Enjoy the flight!

Thanks Ken.  So far I've done Anchorage to Juneau.  And Juneau to Ketchikan.  Each approach was amazing.  Tonight I will probably go from Ketchikan to Yakutat.  Then I still have Kenai/Homer/Valdez/Fairbanks to checkout.  Time is the enemy right now.
