Hey David, are there now Campaigns in DCS?

I have the flight deck addon, but i've never been able to get the aircraft to launch off the cat and it may be a software issue, but can I ask what steps you do in order to get a cat launch?  It's been almost a year since i booted up DCS so I don't recall the steps I was using.

Lots of Campaigns, Here is a link to the free F-18C ones, use the dropdown windows to find single missons and diffrent airframes.

As for Carrier, the default Carriers are really basic, within the F-18C Training there is one for Carrier take off, but the Super carrier is so amazing and a perfect match for the F-14-F-18 its worth every Penny Dollar. With the right aircraft, they come with single missions to do CAT I,II,III landings on the super carrier and startup-take off.

I just Finished this First misson. I use Campaigns as learning tools. I thought it was just a dumb bomb run, lol dumb me, JDAM with 2x GBU-31, went away and learned them, all good now...wrong! its sunset and when you return it's pitch black, CASE III onto the super carrier in the dead of night ZERO light, when I say black, its really is pitch black...O dear! I got the carrier on TACAN and the Bearing, but you cannot see anything, its totaly black all you have is your HUD and a black back ground.

But I did it 😜 😀🙂 when close, really close you have a light lol and you just have to trust your HUD & ICLS. Nothing like anything I have done before, the since of achievement is far greater than any flight in any sim I've done before. DCS is  huge learning curve but it does pay you back big time with "I did it" feeling...WOW.

In this mission you have to fly mostly over the sea at <900FT ( above 900 = a fail aprt from the run in) but really 200-500ft, as you get close to the building you need to bomb, you pop up to 4,000ft but at this time you have SAM'S, and Mig's are scramabled to kill you, and yes they did. But I figured out I need to light the burners when I popped up, bombed and keeped burners on till a WP were my mates wait. The Migs could not catch me, they tied, then after all that it was the "simple" CASE III landing....and "BINGO" going off.....lol.

I now need a beer 😉 and a lie down.
