I didn’t realize the CRJ became so popular until it was announced for MSFS2020. I fly it all the time in P3D but you seldom see others fly it online or streams. Most folks hanger it after a few flights because it’s not as automated as the Boeing’s or Airbus. Can’t wait to read the feedback once it’s released.

I think people are just ready to see something other than some GA aircraft

Without reading through all the pages here and Aerosoft, Is the FMS the default or custom? Determines if I'm interested in it at all.

FMS will be custom.

Yup, and this one is going to open the floodgate.

Yeah definitely either the second half of Feb or at worse early March although I would say late Feb.

Mathijs has kind of ruled out the only March date there was until he said that someone already got the date right. So it'll most probably be February.

Happy with MSFS 🙂

My favorite is A320 (before 737). But right after it's the CRJ. It's just perfect for simming needs and has that balance between adventure of aviation (not everything that big or high tech) and still being an airliner. I was missing a proper CRJ (FMC) badly in XP, so I am more than happy it's one of the first aircraft in MSFS.

Custom luckily. I hate planes where devs just throw in a default FMC. I once read that the FMC is among the most complex things to develop, so it's a good measure for commitment.

I'd be intrigued to know how that lifting tug is going to push that CRJ back, we always used a tow bar with the tug because of the lack of clearance under the nose, and to be honest, it's even a PITA getting under there to put that thing one lol, although part of that is trying to get both lugs lined up with the wheel hubs. There might be room to do it, but I've never seen a lifting tug doing a regional with a low ground clearance.

Although hang on a minute, I've got an idea...

I mean, the FBW and WT mods make those planes pretty great.  I think people are just excited about the CRJ because it's the first genuine 3PD tubeliner built from the ground up for the sim.

Feb 16? Is that a clue?

People are hunting for easter eggs. Given what Mathijs said it points more towards end of February, maybe beginning of March.

I found an interesting expression "We are aiming at a a huge customer base, many of them will never have flown a more complex aircraft before". Does it mean they focus on both group hardcore and casual simmers or mostly for casual?
