ATC Needs Complete Overhaul

RC is the best for me, despite its tendency to demand impossible (read unreasonable) descent rates at times (e.g. FL 210 to 11000 feet in 30 miles).

What aircraft are you flying Ian? If one with a CDU add a waypoint with an altitude restriction at 40DME from the destination airport. RC4 will always start you down before the calculated ToD so I engage a 200fpm descent until it aligns with the CDU’s at which point I engage VNAV.

Easiest with something like Aivlasoft’s EFB.

Radar Contact was the best.

I agree, I also really liked the report at the end of the flight. I hope in some next MSFS update we will get some stats when shutting down like, ATC performance, takeoff-landing info, map of the flight with weather, etc... instead of just a single logbook line

Has anyone here tried Falcon BMS 4.35? The AI atc in that is fantastic. I've found it to be the closest experience I've had to PilotEdge. Such a great sim on so many levels.

Thanks Ray,

It's a PMDG 744. Do you mean add a waypoint in the original flight plan (so that RC4 will be able to read it)?

You could do it that way but I just enter it in the CDU. So if there’s a VOR at your destination airport just enter the ID , the radial and distance.

So at EGCC coming up from the SE it could be MCT140/40. Set the altitude constraint to either 110 or 120 depending on whether it’s a near side approach or far side. Fuller details in the manual.

ATC is the same as in FSX.  I liked it then and like it more now.  Guess my brain is wired that way.

I would pay $$ to have old FSX's ATC back, with even just a couple of minor tweaks.  What I really liked about it was the lack of concotenation--phrasing sounded actually believable.  Cannot stand the Azure voices, at least the pilot's voice, can tolerate Window Offline TTS voices despite the fact it's TRANSformed me.
