OSM World: Western Europe Lake Geneva

Recommended Posts

Hi everybody,

I just came across a new problem on my FS2004. Flying from Amsterdam to Nice I noticed a coastline error at Lake Geneva. It seems like there is a straight cut right through the middle of the lake. I found out that there is awareness of that error and that it got fixed:

https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/451039-open-betacommunity-project-osm-world/page/7/

However, the dropbox content got deleted and I can't find the updated file anywhere online. Can you guys help me out?

Thanks in advance and happy flying 🙂

Pat

Pat, did you install the update available here at the Library? It's the last one in this link:

Main rig: self built, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X @ 4.5 GHz 2x8 GB DDR4-3200 RAM, Nvidia GTX1650 4 GB, 256 GB M.2 SSD (OS+apps) + 1 TB SATA III SSD (sims) + 1 TB 7200 rpm HDD (storage), Viewsonic VX2458-MHD 1920x1080@30-144 Hz, Windows 10 Pro.  Runing P3D 4.5 and FSX-SE. XP11 Vulkan installed, but not yet tried. Will MSFS2020 run? If so, what do I do with 5 sims then?

Mobile rig: ASUS TUF FX504GD (Intel i5 8300H @ 2.3-3.7 GHz; 2x8 GB DDR4-2666 RAM; Nvidia GTX 1050 2 GB; 256 GB M.2 SSD + 1 TB SATA III SSD as storage; Windows 10 Home). Running FSX-SE and FS9 there.

Saitek X-52 as primary controller. Xbox 360 wired and eDimensional G-Pad Pro wired controllers as standby/travel. Fell in love with VKB Gladiator NXT Premium, now saving...  🙂

After reading this post I took a look at my own Lake Geneva and saw a straight but diffuse transition line running down the length of the lake, with a greenish, so called "inland lake" color on one side of it and on the other side a more blue-ish sea-like color. So, not a coastal problem but some kind of texture problem, possibly even related to the initial poster's problem.

I busted my brains on this one, I even copied the World texture contents from a very old (two years ago) backup but to no avail.

I'm not using UT Europe nor OSM World but do have extensive mesh and LC scenery for the area ------ but ------ temporarily disabling these had no effect.

Anybody ?

Regards

Hans
