Is it OK to put the FSX SE on one drive, and the scenery and planes on another?

You can, the aircraft folder can be added by editing the fsx.cfg file.

The fsx.cfg file would need an entry such as this:

[Main]
SimObjectPaths.X=Your chosen drive\the folder which contains your aircraft

The X should be replaced by the next available number in the list.

As an example, if you installed all your aircraft into D:\My FSX aircraft and the next available number in the list was 6, as it typically is, the line would look like this:

SimObjectPaths.6=D:\My FSX aircraft

and be added below SimObjectPaths.5=SimObjects\Misc

The scenery can be added using the FSX scenery library in the usual way, although the use of the Scenery Config Editor would make this task quicker and easier.

I have had scenery on a different drive for many years - just point to the alternate drive in the scenery.config file - either manually or upon scenery installation.  Don't know if aircraft can be moved to another drive though(?)  But you can move many planes to another drive just to store them, and move one or more back to the SimObjects/Airplanes folder whenever you want to fly them - I have created a folder called "Hanger" just for that purpose...

You may have problems retrieving the planes as they might be stored in a Hangar. You're probably OK because most of them will let you off the hook... :happy:
