A working freeware version A330 with A32NX cockpit can be found here: https://www.msfsaddon.com/2021/01/msfs2020-airbus-a330-neo-freeware.html

I wouldn't use that, it uses stolen models as It appears to be the Scam Payware Abad Studios version someone uploaded based on how the description is edited

From experience, any preview of a pending release that doesn't show the cockpit panel view usually means it's of poor quality, lacking systems and is not one of the models selling points.

Except this model is a freeware, so I am not sure how a free model can have "selling points". It's free to try, and if you don't like it you won't lose anything. Also, in the comments section they mentioned that it will be a slightly modified version of the default A320 neo cockpit.

I seem to recall the recently released 737Max being slated by Avsim members. 48 pages of postings later, it's the best thing that's ever happened to simming...

Shame the same hasn't happened to Boeing...

I wonder if this great looking freeware 'Bus will make BlackBox Simulations wake up and take notice... and then totally abandon the Widebody Prologue for FSX and P3D :blink: Wait.. What??

I hope the behaviour in the flare will not be cause for concern.. then again it is a freebie.

(Not that I've come across a dodgy flare in the 'Buses I paid for, so I'm obviously doing something wrong.)

It's out now

https://www.projectmegapack.com/downloads-aircraft/

Known issues:
-Mouse-controlled spoilers and reversers do not work; use keybinds or peripherals to control them
-Rubber on sidestick is wrong (black, should be blue)
-No icing or wingflex yet
-Rudder is too sensitive
-Invalid MCDU approach speed data
-Throttle quadrant zone bugs (these will be fixed in our next update)
-Cockpit windows slightly blur the view

It also doesn't work if you have the a320x installed as they both share files. So disable that when you want to fly it.

Hard pass. I know the developers are new and its freeware but it just needs a whole lot of work. Glad its out there for people to try and enjoy though. Hopefully in time it will get improved.

Oh Man, IMO there is still a lot to do, i don`t like the outside model looks to FSX like, means for me the outside looks to flat at all with allmost zero details ( just look at the Asobo models there is so mutch more on it )

I think there is no need ( in MSFS ) to be so save on the mesh from the model so a lot details are missing for me.

They said all is beta stage and more and more at the time gets updated, so hopefully the model gets some update too.

We will see..🤔

cheers 😉

There is a lot of bashing that is uncalled for in this addon in all kinds of social media avenues.   There needs to be some reasonable balance in what feedback is.  We need freeware developers to be encouraged not discouraged.  Constructive criticism goes a long way rather than outright negativity.

I downloaded it , and did a test flight LSZH -LIRF , and was pleased there is plenty of liveries already.   The external model doesnt look to bad at all. Not a ton of detail, but reflections and PBR is a nice touch for freeware.   The control surfaces are somewhat unrealistic as they move around like a toy and dont resemble a very heavy rudder movement for example.   Im sure this can be fixed.

The aircraft handles very much like default A320 albeit with a little bit of a heavier feel.  Dont expect too much systems fidelity here.  And above all else dont be expecting managed modes to work.  The AP did a pretty good job of flying laterally so long as there is none of the default USR waypoints that get put in or other oddities.   Dont even think about managed vertically.  The FBW even has trouble with this.   For alot of the flight , I did manage the AP myself in speeds and altitudes, and sometimes HDG if it got confused.   Dont find that to be a big deal. I didnt pay for this aircraft. This will be improved on and for the time being, as always with any aircraft, if its not behaving the way it should, then intervene with a self managed AP or hand fly. Your the captain.   Ive seen the ILS work in other preview videos, but for landing into LIRF it did not capture the ILS for some reason and so again I used VS from IAF.  Somewhat of an unusual AOA that was a bit extreme.  The PERF page gave me a Vapp of 309 lol.   Landed with 130knots with full flaps and although it was a little floaty, it did eventually come down not too far from my intended TD point. Fuel used is way out of whack. That needs to be addressed.  OFP said to use 15tons of fuel and it only used up 4.5.   Be careful on loading the aircraft that the CFG isnt too far forward or your going to have all kinds of trouble flying.

Its nice to have an A330 in the sim, but temper your expectations.   It is freeware, and grateful there are talented people out there to make it.  I cant 3d model nor can I code.  I trust they will continue to improve this going forward. What would be awesome is if the external model would be merged with the FBW cockpit, but I guess there was no such agreement that was feasible.   Until a high fidelity payware comes out, this will be good for some long hauls. Definitley do some test flights before you take it on vatsim and have a backup plan in case it doesnt follow your FP to the T.

Ich denke sie wird immer wieder aktualisiert, muss es eine Version geben.

Thank you again, my good sir.

I did  a successful flight from EDDF (Frankfurt) to EDDK Koln. It hand flies good, It feels heavy/heavier than the A320. The VC is identical to the A320.  Not sure how different the real A330 is compared to A320. The systems seems to work for what I was doing, Going from A to B and and ILS. for some reason when I entered  ILS freq 110.9 for 14L at Koln. It did'nt take it.. but it did take the DFW 18R ILS so I would think its the airport addon and not this Airbus.

I am puzzled as to why so many people are complaining and waving their angry hands in the air at this FREEWARE. Sheesh! Are these the same people who made all those noise for the 20$ 737? I wonder. With MSFS we have more simmers which is good, but we also ended up with many whiners and trolls.

They changed the cockpit a bit, but in principle it is the A320N cockpit, of course. Flight model feels ok so far, though I found the landing speed a bit too low. I am no A330 specialist but I had optimal landing speed with full flaps and 2.5 degrees AOA at 132 knots with quite a heavily loaded plane. I would have expected something around 145 knots.

3D model looks nice, several details are missing but the gear looks good at touchdown, doors open when baggage and ramp are coming. Taxiing is very good.

They have made no changes to the FMC and the underlying logic so far, so all the internal calculations (stall speed, V speeds etc.) are calculated for the A320N which can be quite off with the higher weight of the A330 - Vapp of 260 for example is funny, but might be "realistic" for a 150 metric tons super-overloaded A320.
