FSUIPC not working after windows update

Recommended Posts

I just did a windows 10 update a couple days ago and since then, FSUIPC6 is not working correctly. Some of the axis levers on my CH throttle quadrant

do not calibrate or show any movement when moving the lever. I uninstalled FSUIPC6 and reinstalled and that did not help.

I have had it for many years and have had no problem until I did the windows update. I am running P3Dv5.1

Thank you for any ideas!

Did the device GUIDs change?

To start, make sure the update didn't re-enable the "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" option in Control Panel -> Device Manager -> USB controllers.  Check every listed USB device, and if there's a power management tab in "properties" make sure the "Allow the computer to turn off this device..." option is UNchecked.  Windows updates have a bad habit of reverting this option to on.

It's also possible that the GUIDs associated with some devices could have changed as a result of the update.  I use the feature in FSUIPC to assign my devices a letter rather than a number, and that seems to keep the assignments stable even through disconnections, port changes, and OS updates.

Check that the problem device(s) are listed in Windows Control Panel -> Devices and Printers...if not, unplug and re-connect the USB connection and see if Windows detected it.  If Windows doesn't see it, neither will FSUIPC.

if it helps doug,  both myself and 2 mates had the same issue a few days ago where for some reason joystick (for me)  and pedals and joystick (for my 2 buddies ) became uncalibrated.

i wrongly thought it was the aerosoft 330 going nuts because we were so light. (we only had 37 seats and a zfw of 142.80)  thanks covid..

it went nuts on takeoff,  I then tried the FSL 320 and it did the same.  then recalibrated, tried again no issues.

what the updates changes I dont know,  but all 3 of us updated, and all 3 of us had issues.

cheers

Thank you for the reply's. The funny thing here is that my Yoko yoke is working, my CH pedals are working but

my CH throttle quadrant is only partly working. I can get only two axis working, the other four are dead.

When I try to assign them in FSUIPC, I click scan while moving the lever but FSUIPC does not see it

until the lever is at the full forward position. When I move the lever aft, there is no movement seen in FSUIPC, it

just go's to zero. BTW after running the update, all of the control assignments repopulated in P3D!

I had to go in and delete all of them again.

regards

I fixed it. The throttle quadrant fell out of calibration. In order to calibrate it, I had to set the default setting,

then calibrate from there. It's working fine now!

Thanks for your help!!
