Getting 30-35 FPS in a RTX 3070 at ultra settings and the usual crappy weather for UK in winter. Frame limited by CPU, so switching to high setting only increased FPS by 5. To be honest, our weather is not as bad as the stereotype. We don't suffer extreme cold, or extreme heat. We don't have hurricanes, earthquakes or anything like that. Us brits (well me) like it when its 15 degrees and cloudy just right in the middle lol. Thomas Derbyshire
February 16, 20215 yr (Regarding stuttering, see edit at the end...) The clouds are much improved -- not just texture-wise but also color-wise. The ash reddish hue seems gone. They're bluer and more natural looking. I went to Oxford and then to London. London looks beautiful but, unfortunately, almost the whole trip from Heathrow and back was a stuttering mess. It was more of a slideshow than a flight. There is a half a second long freeze every one or two seconds. I'm hoping this will be somewhat resolved with cache building and/or some settings tweaking. I've experienced some stutters before, but nothing remotely comparable even flying above Tokyo, New York, Chicago, Paris (and London before). Approaching Heathrow for landing, heading West, the stuttering was gone. Turning my nose back towards London immediately brought the stuttering (and massive framerate drop) back. Edited to add: Merely restarting the application (and restarting my PC, for good measure) resolved my stuttering issue over London. I'm guessing that, maybe, removing the ORBIX London City Landmarks pack after the update wasn't enough. It either ought to be removed before installing the update or, else, a restart might be required. So, now, there is no more stutters and the frame rate is very decent. February 16, 20215 yr Waiting for the first flight after updating: the download speed is lower than 20 Mbps (for 30 Gigs...), as usual 😞 Missing the PMDG DC6 in MSFS 2024 (she's here, but...).

February 16, 20215 yr After the UK update and uninstalling the ORBX London City Pack, the entire London looks rusted with some crane like structures scattered everywhere and old looking buildings. Prefer the ORBX pack for London and wish it is back soon with a compatibility update. Edited February 16, 20215 yr by vinodkk
February 16, 20215 yr I'm extremely impressed by this update. The sim is loading faster and it looks fantastic. I have not tested everything, but so far so good. MSFS
February 16, 20215 yr Starting from London City, fps are worth but still ok. I have a lot of flickering textures on the ground above London, did someone notice this too ?

I do see how MSFS is saying 'Checking for updates' during launch. Can't be rocket science for the developers over at Asobo to compare the installed version with the version available online. I do love MSFS for it's visuals and now VR support but I'm getting so tired of the issues I'm having where no solution seems to exist. I keep having this problem whenever an update is released and then I also have the issue where I'm forced to always stop the standard Windows Audio service before launching MSFS. If that service is running, MSFS will CTD after the first black screen just before switching to the Xbox logo screen. When I've been talking to Asobo about this, their suggestion has been to reinstall language packages and Visual C++. And they haven't even commented on the discovery someone over in the MSFS Forums made where the standard Windows service was found to be the culprit. Sigh...sorry for the derail...

They've been there since launch, they show up on areas that have no satellite imagery, and when you have Bing data turned off.

February 16, 20215 yr Disappointed how little attention Ireland received especially Dublin as our capital. Only Dublin castle is modelled which is a very strange choice considering it's barely visible from the air. Why not at least model a few of the major landmarks that define the city from the air? There are only 2 capital cities in the update afterall, London and Dublin. At least pay it some attention if they are to include Ireland as part of the update.
